Pad-A-Pew Pew Upholstery The group has 12 parishes across the western United States and traces its succession to the Old Catholic Church of Utrecht, the Dutch Jansenist group of the late 17th century. The cruise liner appears to have booked Archbishop Michael Senco without realising that he was not in communion with Rome. In a letter to Cunard Line, which runs the ship, British passenger Nicholas Bennett wrote: Any Mass conducted by this celebrant would be null and void and the communion would be invalid. Mr Bennett, a former Conservative MP and minister and a member of the Catholic Union, arrived at the first Mass where he told the group of guests waiting that it was not an authentic Catholic Mass. Mr Bennett said an official appeared and warned him that he would be removed by security if he stood outside the service. Mr Bennett was told that as the service was not advertised as a Roman Catholic Mass there was no room for confusion. But he argued that Catholics would rightly assume that a service described as a Catholic Mass would be performed by a Roman Catholic REPORT AN ERROR priest. The chances of anybody assuming that a Catholic Mass would refer to a Mass celebrated by a non-RC priest belonging to an obscure and schismatic church were infinitesimal, he wrote. Speaking to The Catholic Herald, Mr Bennett said: Im astonished that a company worth billions of pounds can make such an error. He said that he collected the email addresses of 20 other passengers who had expressed concern about the mix-up and wanted to be kept informed. Eventually, he said, a member of staff investigated the matter and apologised for the error.
