The Board of Directors and
Management are pleased to announce
that we have hired Mr. Paul Lehnert as
Head Golf Professional. Many of you
already know Paul as he has worked in
the capacity of Interim Head Pro and
Assistant Head Pro for us since April of this year.
Paul comes to us with extensive background and experi-
ence. Before arriving at Pine Lake, Paul was the Assistant to Mr.
Michael Areddy, Head Golf Professional at Travis Pointe Country
Club, where he honed many of his skills. Paul became a Class-
A member of the PGA of America in 2003 and was named 2007
Assistant of the Year for the Michigan Section. In addition, he is
proficient in computer networking and several computer applica-
tions including V1 Digital Coaching System and K-Vest system
for teaching.
Paul’s enthusiasm, attention to customer service, business
management, merchandising skills, and teaching ability qualify
him well. During his short tenure here at PLCC, he has proven
himself as a worthy choice and we are pleased that Paul has
accepted this position. We are sure he’ll be a great asset, bringing
high standards and improvements to our already wonderful pro-
gram here at Pine Lake. Please welcome him to our PLCC fami-
ly.

Celebrating the big 94!
Frank Read knows how to do it right!
Blonde Bombshells
When Life Member Frank Read was asked by
his daughter-in-law Renee what he wanted for
his 94th birthday he couldn’t think of anything
he really wanted or needed so he jokingly
replied “How about a Blonde?” to which Renee
responded, “Be careful what you wish for!”
Renee quickly went about the job of granting
Frank’s wish, but in a much bigger way than
anyone could imagine. Her first task was to
buy five blonde
“glamour wigs.”
She then hit the
phones in an
attempt to fill them with five willing accomplices. It didn’t take long to find
the required number of females who were eager to go along with the gag.
Early last November all were invited to a dinner at Pine Lake in celebration of
Frank’s birthday. Upon arrival at the club the men were directed to a table in
the Mixed Grill while all the “future
blondes” excused themselves presumably
to “powder their noses.”
Their entrance into the Grill was nothing short of hilarious as the other
members will attest. Everyone stared in wonder and amusement as five
“Blonde Bombshells” complete with feather boas began their approach to
Frank’s table, much to his pleasure and surprise. After dutifully receiv-
ing a birthday kiss from each Blonde, he remarked, “This is the best
birthday I’ve had in 94 years…I can hardly wait to see what next year
will bring!”
Frank joined Pine Lake almost 45 years ago in 1963 and still plays golf
in addition to visiting a local health club several times a week. When
asked what his secret is to living such a long life he quickly stated
“blondes and exercise” in that precise order. “Get the blonde, the exer-
cise will follow!”

served on the Club’s entertainment, beach and tennis committees; has been chair per-

Other members recognize her as a major planner and participant in the home-grown
