Oct. 7, Sun.- is World Communion Sunday. We will join with Christians around the world in a service of communion and foot washing. Oct. 7, Sun.- Will be our regular, first-Sunday of the month fellowship meal, also you can sign-up to help serve on the small whiteboard on the refrigerator in the church kitchen. Oct. 19, 20, & 21, Fri. & Sat.-7 p.m., Sun. 10 a.m.-We invite your prayers and participation in our church's annual Spiritual Renewal Services. This year our resource person is Josef Berthold, who serves as pastor at West End Mennonite Fellowship in Lancaster, and is also involved in various church plants. A snack will follow the Fri. & Sat. evening services. Oct. 20, Sat.-Cocalico area Home of Hope fundraising auction will be held at Swamp Lutheran Church, Reinholds. Auction begins at 6:30 p.m. & doors open at 5:30 p.m. with a light dinner available. Proceeds support Home of Hope which provides temporary housing for homeless individuals. Check bulletin board for suggested donations and more details. Donations can be brought to church by Sunday October 14. -There is interest in a new members/baptism class in the near future. Contact Pastor Phil if you would like to participate in this bi-weekly class or have interest in baptism and/or becoming a member of our church or have questions about this. -If you would like to be added or deleted from the current greeter schedule please talk to Dorothy. -The Missionary Messenger is a monthly magazine published by EMM for the purpose of inspiring readers with stories of God at work through EMM. Our church pays the subscription cost for those interested in receiving this publication and our group renewal date is approaching. Please inform Darlene McCosby by October 14th if you wish to have your name added or deleted from the subscription list. -Ruth Horst rests comfortably, sleeps well and she knows people and she has a smile. Thank you for your prayers, cards and visits. Her right side is paralyzed and is her biggest handicap. Our children dearly love their mother and they surround her well. -Luke Horst -Thank you for helping us celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary! It was a special day for us. We enjoyed reading all the cards and special memories. -Harvey & Ruth Ann Horning -There will be no Youth Group Bible Study on Oct. 3rd, but the Youth are invited to Travis & Carolyns house for a cookout on Oct. 6th. Also we will not have Bible Study Oct. 17th. But Thur. Oct. 18th we will be going to WJTL Youth Group Night. Meet at church at 5:45 p.m. We should be back around 9:30 p.m. -The Cocalico Valley Historical Society is doing a church history project. They have already interviewed me (Phil) as pastor and they are looking for eight or more people from our church who would be willing to participate in a short, six question interview.
