Dear Sir/ Madam

Started a restaurant review blog called Eat This Lahore Started a Lahore chapter of Critical Mass, a community organization promoting green transportation Native speaker of Urdu/Hindi

I am writing this letter to express my interest in becoming a Rotman Scholar. I believe that I am well suited to this position as I have a strong grasp of the programs course content, I am able to convey ideas effectively and because I would be dedicated to helping students perform better. In the last year, I have performed well academically and was able to find a spot on the Deans list. I believe that I have the knowledge and understanding of many of the courses in the MBA program, which is imperative in being able to teach other students. Specifically, one of the areas I am interested in being a scholar for are the economics courses as I was an economics major as an undergraduate student. Last year, I realized that there were many students who did not have the opportunity to study Economics prior to the MBA and I found myself explaining some of the concepts to several of my peers. Having this experience makes me confident that I will be able to successfully help students in the economics based subjects. Additionally, I have been in several leadership positions which I believe is a testament to my communication skills. During the final year in my undergraduate program, I was elected the president of the Pakistani Society and during my tenure, we were able to double the member base of that student group. Prior to the MBA, I was running my fathers business of over two hundred employees by myself and one of the key reasons that I was able to do so was my ability to convey ideas in a clear and concise manner. I believe that I will be able to bring this skill set to the table as a Rotman Scholar. As a person, I try to put in my best effort in all tasks I perform and part of that mentality is looking for ways to improve on current practices. From my experience as a student learning from last years Rotman scholars, I believe that there is one key element that would further enhance the program. I found the scholar sessions to be extremely useful and I believe that they should be conducted on a more frequent basis. Considering the limited time that we have in class to cover a large syllabus, I believe that having more frequent scholar sessions would allow students to really grasp the concepts being taught by the professor. This in turn would allow students to be more comfortable with the subject matter and further enable them to use these concepts outside of class as well.

Lastly, I look forward to having an opportunity to give back to the Rotman School and play a part in enhancing the quality of the experience of the incoming class next year.
