org ALPFA ANNOUNCES THE 2012-2013 NATIONAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS Yvonne Garcia, Senior Vice President at State Street Corporation will serve as ALPFA National President LOS ANGELES, CA ALPFA, the largest association for Latino professionals and students, announced the incoming National board of Directors that was elected by members in the last election. Yvonne Garcia, Senior Vice President at State Street Corporation has been elected ALPFA National President for the 2012-2014 term effective October 1, 2012. Prior to State Street, Yvonne served as Director in Marketing and Distribution Strategy for Liberty Mutuals Agency Corporation and as Vice President for Bank of Americas China Construction Bank Strategic Assistance. In this role, Yvonne and her team were responsible for the creation and implementation of over 80 Wealth Management Centers throughout China. In between her travels to China, Yvonne also spent over 7 weeks in North Carolina acquiring her Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt Certifications and is now a Six Sigma Black Belt. As part of her activities in the community, Yvonne is also the co-founder of Milagros para Nios, a board at Childrens Hospital in Boston, which has raised more than $3 million in funds for Hispanic children who cant afford medical care. She also serves on the boards of La Alianza Hispana, a community-based organization providing health and education programs to the Latino Community of Greater Boston, and the Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre, an organization focused on linking the arts to children in inner cities. It is a true privilege to take on the role of National President for ALPFA. My team and I plan on leveraging the incredible work of our founders and past leaders and recognize that we will need to think globally and challenge ourselves to grow in this new global community. I am confident that with the right team and by capitalizing on ALPFAs numerous strengths we can achieve great things together.
