1. Company profile Company Slovglass Poltr, s.r.o. has been a traditional Slovak manufacturer and exporter of high quality 24% lead crystal products and soda potash domestic glass. Connection of traditions and modern technologies with experience of skilled craftsmen has enabled them to create innovative design and utility. History of glassmaking in region Novohrad stretches back to the 18th century. Production plant in Poltr manufactures wide range of 24% lead crystal. Machine made domestic glassware is manufactured in the second production plant in Katarinska Huta. Company belongs to few companies worldwide which produce crystal of top quality. Production assortiment of stemware, giftware, tableware and accessories covers drinking glasses, tumblers, candlesticks, bowls, vases, jugs, bottles, plates, decorated pieces, gifts incl. trophies and special awards. Skilled crafstmen can create glass of various shapes and patterns. Products are enriched by cutting, hand-painting of platinum or gold, scale of shiny organic colours, etching and engraving. Lot of rich patterns are hand cut. More than 95% of the production is exported to foreign markets. Main target markets are Great Britain, Italy, Spain, Germany, Greece, France, the USA, Canada and countries of Middle East, Asia, Australia as well. Both standard collections and novelties are regularly exhibited at the International Consumer goods fair AMBIENTE in Frankurt, Germany. 2. Current situation Due to the unfavourable economic situation and lack of efficiency of the production process the company has fallen into financial difficulties in December 2011. The company had to make redundant the majority of the employees with the exception of a few of them. The company originally used to employ 400 employees and in case of restructuring the company and reviving the production process is really pervasive (23%). 3. Investment plan The presented company is seeking for an investor. This investment opportunity offers a unique possibility of acquiring one of few producers of the crystal glass in the world. The region also disposes a number of qualified staff with unique experience in the industry. Sale of the company follows the public bidding proceeding.
