2. ICESM 2012 : 2012 International Conference on Embedded System and Microprocessors The 2012 International Conference on Embedded System and Microprocessors (ICESM 2012) is the premier forum for the presentation of new advances and research results in the fields of Embedded System and Microprocessors. Topics of interest for submission include all design and architectural aspects related to embedded systems hardware. It includes different embedded system hardware platforms ranging from custom hardware via reconfigurable systems and application specific processors to general purpose embedded processors. Special emphasis is put on novel complex embedded architectures, such as systems on chip (SoC), systems on a programmable/reconfigurable chip (SoPC) and multiprocessors on a chip (MPoC) as well as their communication methods, such as network-onchip (NoC). Design automation of such systems including methodologies, techniques and tools for their design as well as novel designs of hardware components fall within the scope of this conference. Novel applications that use embedded systems are also central in this conference. While software is not a part of this conference hardware/software co-design methods that consider interplay between software and hardware components with emphasis on hardware are also relevant here. 3. M-SCOPES 2013 : Software and Compilers for Embedded Systems We he influences of embedded systems is constantly growing. Increasingly powerful and versatile devices are developed and put on the market at a fast pace. Their functionality and number of features is increasing, and so are the constraints on the systems concerning size, performance, energy dissipation and timing predictability. To meet all these constraints, multiprocessor systems on a chip (MPSoCs) are becoming popular in embedded systems. In order to meet the Performance and energy constraints of embedded applications, heterogeneous architectures incorporating functional units optimized for specific functions are commonly employed. This technological trend has dramatic consequences on the parallelization, mapping, compiler and design technology used to develop these systems. The M-SCOPES workshop focusses on the software generation process for modern embedded systems. Topics of interest include all aspects of the compilation and mapping process of embedded single and multi-processor systems. This includes (but is not limited to): models of computation and programming languages;
