Panini Keypad allows you to write in all languages of India on the phone, fast and easily without the

need of printed characters on the keypad. It is based on a patented invention of statistical predictive texting where characters are automatically predicted and put on to your fingertips as you write along. It is an entirely new way of typing and hence please go through the instructions to experience the best usability. Happy typing in Indian languages on your phone! How to Download and install on your phone? You can download the Panini Keypad applications for each language from the website www.PaniniKeypad.com and install it by yourself. If you download it to computer you can transfer to your phone via Bluetooth or USB cable. You could also directly download the applications to your phone by visiting the PaniniKeypad.com site on your phone over GPRS. The Panini Keypad application is also on sale from many retail stores. If you are buying a scratch card from an authorized Reseller, the reseller will help you install the application on your phone from his computer or over Bluetooth (wirelessly) from his own phone.

Where to install on your phone? We recommend that you place this application at an easily reachable folder as you have to start it often. Say inside the Applications/Gallery folder of your phone. If you have downloaded directly to phone, the application may have been default installed into your Applications | Games folder. You can later place a shortcut on your phone to access the application quickly.

How to Type?

The most important thing about typing with Panini Keypad is there are no characters marked on the keypad. Instead characters are shown on the screen. The user is to see the character on the screen and press the numeric key indicated. This allows support of many languages on the same keypad conveniently. You will notice a 3x4 matrix on your mobile screen. Characters are arranged on screen in this 3x4 matrix and these characters are mapped through your Numeric keypad on your mobile phone. There are many types of characters in Indian languages Vyanjan Varna (consonants) shown in Brown, swar varnas (independent vowels) shown in Blue, Matras (dependent vowels) shown in Black. And the Halant which is used for joining characters alone shown in Red. Each of these character types come up automatically based on the context of what you are writing. There are Two simple rules of typing:1. See the character on screen and press the corresponding numeric key on mobile phone. 2. If the character you want is not on the screen, then press the Next List Button (The large Select button in the middle). You can also use the Up key to go to Next Lists and the Down key for previous list.

PaniniKeypad tries to automatically adjust to smaller screen resolutions on phones.

Tips with writing on Panini How to enter space? To enter space, press the (0) numeric key on your keypad of your phone. Enter space twice to enter a Purna Viram. How to enter yuktakshars? Enter Halant (shown in Red color) between two characters to make a yuktakshar (conjunct, consonant cluster). Say, to write Type + + + + + + + + + + + + + Examples:

How to write ?

The way to write is to write (Dda) and then a (Bindi/Nukta). Similarly you can write or if you wish.

How to delete and clear? You can clear the last entered characters using the Clear button. If you wish to delete or insert text from the middle, you can move to insert position by using left or right scroll key or you need to go to the Options | View Text to edit the text.

How to insert English words and symbols? In the View Text mode, you can do anything you like including inserting English words and symbols. In the View Text mode, you can also copy paste text from and to other applications on the phone. For example, if you have a GPRS phone, you can copy text from here and paste into Internet or any where and send as e-mail or scraps to someone else. How to Send SMS? Type your message, Choose Options | Send. Then enter the telephone number, (or choose from your Address book on phone) and Choose Send. Your SMS will be sent. Sent SMS will be shown in your Sent Items in the Panini Mailbox. Changing Language You can change from one language to another through Options | Change Language. You are also allowed to send mixed language SMS.

Each of the other Indian languages would be supported in a simple manner called the Mode A, Mode B and which does not offer predictive assistance. Converting from one language to another You can also convert your text from one language to another. For example, you can write your text in Hindi and convert it to Telugu before sending the message. It will then be delivered in Telugu language. Go to Options | Convert to Uninstalling Just delete the application from your phone. Note that you need to delete previous installations before making a fresh installation or changing the version.

Registration The software needs to be registered to be used beyond the Free Evaluation period. To register, you need to buy a scratch card from an authorized Reseller or our website. The procedure for Registration is as follows.

1. Scratch the card to get your Challenge Number (14 digits). 2. Start the Panini Keypad Application and then to Registration | Enter Challenge Number. 3. Enter the Challenge Number, your own mobile number and your name (optional). And select Register. 4. A SMS will be sent to our server at 9958025050 with your permission. 5. If your request is valid, a matching reply string will be sent to you over SMS within 24 hours. 6. Start the Panini Keypad Application and then to Registration | Enter Reply Number. 7. Enter the Reply Number (10 digits) and select Register button.

Please note down the numbers for future reference. Important note: Enter your 10 digit mobile number correctly because a scratch card can be used only once to get a Reply string for a particular mobile number. Although if you have not received the Reply or have lost it, you can send a fresh request if the Mobile number is the same. You may also be asked to enter your own number when you are trying to send your first message. That is part of the Registration process. The same Challenge - Reply pair will work even if you change the handset. You can enter the same Challenge - Reply as long as the mobile number is the same. Hence you can lose your handset but you can never lose the software. Obtain the latest version from the website or Reseller and use the same Challenge Reply if your number has not changed. Expiry: You cannot use the software to send messages without Registration beyond the free evaluation period. You can however continue to type and even copy paste your text to send a message from your phone. Test Your Phone for Indian Languages Fonts Our company offers a free service to test your phone for Indian languages fonts, you may send a blank SMS or the word Test to 9958025050. A reply SMS comes to your phone within a minute, which shows the alphabets of different Indian languages.
