How to Load Data into Planning Book from Flat File

Introduction With SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (SAP APO) and SAP Supply Chain Management (SAP CM), SAP has offered a powerful system to support a whole range of processes in supply chain management for many years now. The APO-PP/DS (Production Planning/ Detailed Scheduling) component is used for plantspecific production planning and detailed scheduling. Planning Area Planning areas are the central data structures for Demand Planning and Supply Network Planning. Actuals or other data values get stored in an InfoCube and InfoCube is attached to a planning area. The planning area is created as part of the Demand Planning/Supply Network Planning setup. This is based on a planning area. The end user is aware of the planning book, not the planning area. The planning area specifies the following: Unit of measure in which data is planned Currency in which data is planned (optional) Currency conversion type for viewing planning data in other currencies (optional) Storage buckets profile that determines the buckets in which data is stored in this planning area Aggregate levels on which data can be stored in addition to the lowest level of detail in order to enhance performance Key figures that are used in this planning area Settings that determine how each key figure is disaggregated, aggregated, and saved The assignment of key figures to aggregates

Supply Network Planning comes with predefined planning areas. We can define our own planning areas. Planning Book A planning book determines the content and layout of the interactive planning screen. Planning books can be used in Supply Network Planning and Demand Planning. They allow us to design the screen to suit individual users planning tasks. A planning book is based on a planning area. There is no restriction on the number of planning books we can have for a planning area. Within a planning book, we can also define one or more views. Views allow us, for instance, to tailor the information displayed for various users (for example, to display different key figures for different users). Supply Network Planning comes with the following standard planning books: 9ASNP94 for Supply Network Planning 9ASOP for Sales & Operations 9ADRP for Distribution Resource Planning 9AVMI for Vendor Managed Inventory

In Supply Network Planning, we are provided with standard planning books (and views) for each of the various types of planning available (that is, classical SNP, SOP, DRP and VMI). We can, however, create our own planning books. SAP recommends that use the standard planning books as templates when you create your own planning books. Characteristic Value Combination A characteristic value combination is the combination of characteristic values with which you want to plan. It is sometimes referred to a characteristic combination. Unless you have defined a combination no data can be planned. Characteristic value combinations are planned for master planning object structures. The combinations are then valid for all planning areas based on this planning object structure. How to load data into flat file

2. 3.

Create Data source with help of flat file. Activate it and create info package. Now we need to upload flat file data on to server. There could be two below options for uploading data into BI server. a) b) Providing direct path of file on desktop in info package. Upload data into application server and then give application server path into server. i) Go to Se 37 and execute FM ARCHIVFILE_CLIENT_TO_SERVER

ii)

Now need to give full path of the file which needs to be uploaded and name of the target path.

Path Path will be complete path of the file on your machine. Name of the file should be File name.CSV. Target Path For testing purpose, test data2 path has been defined. So target path will be same as test data2. Now click on execute and file will get loaded into the server. Now this path needs to provide into info package for file upload. 4.
