3rd 2010 PROJECT GUIDELINES PANEL PROJECT PRESENTATION: 1. Panel project assessment is 30% of your grade. The panel will be composed of an MP faculty active in the music Philippine music scene, a recording company executive, an artist/musician from the Philippine Music industry and the MP course lecturer. 2. The scenario is this: you are pitching your project to the panel, convincing them of its worth for a commercial release to a major recording company or a recording deal with a record label 3. The project presentation should include the following: An introduction of the poject: what it is all about, who the artists are, how they came about, where they perform, how is the crowd recepction in the places where they perform, any proof (could be video and pictures of a gig or the soft EP launch, write ups internet hits, Facebook, You Tube or My Space hits etc.) of the groups and the songs popularity, radio airplay; how you chose the materials, how you think they fit the artist, with accompanying lyric sheets for the jury neatly placed in a folder with your name and your talents name on it, a CD sample copy of the material (one copy for all the jury) 4. The project assessment will be based on the following criteria: a. Songwriting (25%) b. Recording and mixing techniques (25%) c. Song arrangement (25%) d. CD packaging (25%) e. Marketing strategies employed (bonus points) Project Submission Assessment: 1. The project should be submitted to the MP course lecturer on January 7, 2011 at the latest. This is 30% of your grade. 2. The project should be put in a brown envelope with all the materials for submission. 3. To be submitted are the following: a. the EP sample CD (if you havent submitted one yet during the launch) b. a DVD copy of all of the raw recordings in pro tools file format (simply drag all your pro tools folders to be burned onto the DVD) c. lyrics of all the songs d. an artist write up e. an EP launch project report f. a copy of all videos/mtvs of the project g. other peripheral supporting documents of the lab time use i.e., the log sheets, set-up sheets , actual studio hours made including the actual session times h. pre production plan submitted with the MP course lecturers signature.

PEER ASSESSMENT: 1. Peer assessment is how your classmates react to your project in general. 2. The project assessment by your peers shall be made while waiting for their presentation turn. 3. This is 10% of your grade.
