Performance objective
The tasks detailed in this document are designed to support learners to demonstrate their competence as they complete Assessment Tasks 2, 3 and 4. The learner is to gather a range of relevant information and evidence into a portfolio. The learner is also to maintain a journal as they compile their portfolio and plan for the other Assessment Tasks.

Procedure
Analyse Assessment Tasks 2, 3 and 4, and Appendix 1: Assessor Checklist, to determine the information gathering and planning you are going to need to show in your portfolio and journal. Use a folder to keep your portfolio of information and evidence that you source. The portfolio should include relevant copies or originals of: organisational documents (whole or extracts) personal documents evidence/summaries of feedback collected (copies, records, etc.) evidence/summaries of networks accessed training documents other information sources.

During your information gathering and planning, maintain a journal with dated entries. This should record: what information you gathered and from where how the information gathered is going to help you complete each part of Assessment Tasks 2 and 3 and every interview question in Assessment Task 4.

Specifications
You must submit a portfolio folder that contains evidence (copies, originals, transcripts, references, etc.) of information gathering undertaken as you plan to complete Assessment Tasks 2, 3 and 4. You must submit a journal that clearly demonstrates your information gathering and decision making. Entries should be dated. and Your portfolio must be catalogued in a logical manner, so that your assessor can easily access and understand its contents. Your journal can be completed in pen or using a computer and may be laid out in note form. However, it must be submitted so that it can be read and understood by your assessor. It must thoroughly justify your planning towards every element in Assessment Tasks 2, 3 and 4.

Appendix 1
Assessor checklist Your portfolio and journal must demonstrate that you accessed a range of appropriate information sources and used these to complete Assessment Tasks 2, 3 and 4. Your portfolio and journal will be assessed against the criteria in the table below. Determine their personal learning styles and evaluate suitable development opportunities. Use networks (internal and external) to source information and enhance knowledge and skills.
