Introduction

We students taking Additional Mathematics are required to carry out a project work while we are in Form 5. This year the Curriculum Development Division, Ministry of Education has prepared four tasks for us. We are to choose and complete only ONE task based on our area of interest. This project can be done in groups or individually, but each of us are expected to submit an individually written report. Upon completion of the Additional Mathematics Project Work, we are to gain valuable experiences and able to: Apply and adapt a variety of problem solving strategies to solve routine and non-routine problems. Experience classroom environments which are challenging, interesting and meaningful and hence improve their thinking skills. Experience classroom environments where knowledge and skills are applied in meaningful ways in solving real-life problems. Experience classroom environment where expressing ones mathematical thinking, reasoning and communication are highly encouraged and expected. Experience classroom environments that stimulates and enhances effective learning. Acquire effective mathematical communication through oral and writing and to use the language of mathematics to express mathematical ideas correctly and precisely. Enhance acquisition of mathematical knowledge and skills through problem-solving in ways that increase interest and confidence.

Prepare ourselves for the demand of our future undertakings and in workplace. Realise that mathematics is an important and powerful tool in solving real-life problems and hence develop positive attitude towards mathematics. Train ourselves not only to be independent learners but also to collaborate, to cooperate and to share knowledge in an engaging and healthy environment. Use technology especially the ICT appropriately and effectively. Train ourselves to appreciate the intrinsic values of mathematics and to become more creative and innovative. Realize the importance and the beauty of mathematics.

We are expected to submit the project work within three weeks from the first day the task is being administered to us. Failure to submit the written report will result in us not receiving certificate.

Aims
To improve thinking skills. To promote effective mathematical communication. To develop mathematical knowledge through problem solving in a way that increases students interest and confidence. To provide learning environment that stimulate and enhances effective learning. To apply and adapt a variety of problem-solving strategies to solve problems. To use the language of mathematics to express mathematical ideas precisely. To develop positive attitude towards mathematics.

Appreciation
Alhamdullilah, thank you to Allah for giving the will to do my Additional Mathematics Project. Secondly, I would like to thank Mr. Jafri Jusoh my additional mathematics teacher of Sekolah Menengah Tengku Ampuan Intan for giving the permission to do my Additional Mathematics Project Work. I also like to thank to him for giving useful and important information for me to complete this project work. Besides that, I would like to thank my parents for their support and encouragement. Lastly, a special thanks to all my friends for their help and cooperation in searching for information and completing this project work.

Gaya hidup masa kini menuntut sebahagian besar kaum wanita perlu terlibat dalam perkembangan ekonomi yang dinamik.Keadaan ini mewujudkan satu keperluan kepada perkembangan perusahaan makanan segera yang seimbang dan sihat. Salah satu daripada menu yang sesuai dan sangat mudah untuk dipasarkan adalah muffin atau kek cawan. Ia sangat mudah dibawa, disimpan dan dihidang. Oleh itu, ia menjadi menu pilihan ramai untuk dihidangkan dimana-mana sahaja. Dengan itu, Matematik dapat digunakan dalam membuat perancangan bagi sesuatu perniagaan atau perusahaan, khususnya perusahaan makanan siap atau makana segera yang mendapat permintaan tinggi pada masa sekarang melalui :DIFFERENTIATION. (PEMBEZAAN) Menentukan jumlah minimum atau maksimum bahan-bahan untuk membakar kek cawan. Menganggarkan jumlah minimum atau maksimum krim atau bahan-bahan hiasan lain untuk menghias kek cawan STATISTICS. (STATISTIK) Mengumpul, menyusun dan menganalisa data dalam membuat perancangan untuk menghasilkan kek cawan yang sedap dan dalam kuantiti yang banyak. Menjalankan pemasaran kek cawan dengan teratur dan dapat mengira keuntungan dan kerugian dalam perniagaan yang dijalankan. PROGRESSION. (JANJANG) Menentukan jumlah berat atau isipadu yang diperlukan bergantung kepada permintaan pelanggan. Menganggarkan jumlah bahan yang perlu diperuntukkan untuk menghasilkan kek cawan berdasarkan permintaan pelanggan. BAHAGIAN 2 a) Bahan Harga setiap kilogram (RM) Nisbah Jumlah berat yang digunakan setiap hari (kg) Tepung gandum 2.00 5 25 Susu 8.00 4 2o Gula 1.80 2 10 Telur 4.80 3 15 Menghasilkan 600 paket kek cawan setiap hari dengan setiap paket mengandungi 5 biji. 1 hari = 600 5 =3000 biji

= RM 50.00 Susu = 20 8.00 = RM 160.00 Gula =10 1.80 = RM 18.00 Telur = 15 4.80 = RM 72.00 Kos bagi 3000 biji = 50+160+18+72 = RM 300.00 Oleh itu, jumlah harga kos bahan-bahan utama bagi satu biji kek cawan ialah := 300 3000 = RM 0.10 b) Kos utiliti dan bahan-bahan sampingan ialah RM 500 sehari. i. Kos utiliti = RM 500.00 Kos bahan = RM 300.00 Kos upah = 150 3 = RM 450.00 Oleh itu, jumlah kos operasi setiap hari ialah := 500 + 300 + 450 = RM 1250 ii. 1 biji kek cawan = 20 gram Jumlah jisim kek cawan yang dihasilkan setiap hari ialah := 20 3000 = 60 000 gram @ 60 kilogram c) Harga jualan yang wajar bagi setiap paket kek cawan yang dihasilkan ini ialah RM 1.00 kerana ia amat berpatutan dan harga tersebut sesuai pada zaman kini. Ia tidak terlalu mahal dan tidak terlalu murah, maka kek cawan ini mampu dibeli oleh semua orang. Selain itu, ia juga dapat memberi keuntungan 100% kepada pengusaha kek cawan di kedai Kek Comel. 3 a) Kuantiti pengeluaran sehari = 60 000 gram Saiz kek cawan paling kecil berjisim = 20 gram Saiz kek cawan paling besar berjisim = 60 gram (20y)+(30y)+(40y)+(50y)+(60y) = 60 000 20y+30y+40y+50y+60y = 60 000 200y = 60 000 y = 300 Oleh itu, bilangan unit kek cawan bagi setiap saiz yang dihasilkan sehari ialah := 300 biji
