Senator Claire McCaskill, Staff Assistant, Washington, D.C., October 09 January 11 Operated office switchboard, fielded hundreds of constituent calls every day, worked with press staff to coordinate messaging, and assisted with constituent orders to fly American flags over the Capitol. Responsibilities also included hosting a weekly constituent breakfast, which entailed entertaining guests for twenty to thirty minutes as we waited for Sen. McCaskill to join the group. Senior Executives Association, Administrative Assistant, Washington, D.C., March 09 October 09 Acted as personal assistant to president of a professional association for the Senior Executives Service, the top echelon of career federal officials. Responsibilities included administrative tasks, research on best practices and challenges facing federal officials, coordination of meetings and events, and assistance with production of the monthly newsletter. Senator Claire McCaskill, Intern, Washington, D.C., November 08 March 09 Assisted with administrative tasks and legislative research. Grassroots Campaigns, Inc., Lead Assistant Director, Washington, D.C., July 08 November 08 Ran local fundraising canvass for the Democratic National Committee. Responsibilities included canvassing, staff development, payroll administration, and contribution processing in an office that raised over $1 million for the party. The Texas Observer, Intern, Austin, TX, January 08 May 08 Assisted editorial staff with proofreading, review selections, and submission evaluation. KMBZ 980 Radio Station, Intern, Kansas City, MO, May 04 August 04 Assisted on-air talent with research and administrative tasks.
