Honors Debate Contract Introduction to the course Course Schedule HW: Generate list of 5 topics you would like to debate this year; provide one piece of informational text for each topic that would serve as a starting point for your research. Create a list of personal goals/ objectives for this course. Introduction to Public Speaking: Dos, Donts, and Oh Nos. Generate a rubric for public speaking; compare to used examples. Critique examples of public speaking. Persuasive vs. Argumentative Writing: Youre the variable! Activity Generate topic for argumentative speech from previous HW; review task sheet and begin outline. Primary/ Secondary Sources review HW: Detailed outline, support, and workable draft for argumentative speech Review detailed outline, support, and draft for argumentative speech; feedback Technology Mini: website, programs to use to record your speech HW: Record your speech using one of the website, programs of your choice keeping in mind the rubric we created.
