Industrial Energy Efficiency for Malaysian Manufacturing Sector (IEEMMS) Partnering Agencies:

I.

BACKGROUND

The industrial sector in particular the manufacturing is statistically known to be the highest energy consumption hence provides an enormous opportunity for energy utilization efficiency improvements thus ultimately helps in reducing the Green House Gases (GHG) emission. To improve the efficiency of energy in the industrial sector the Malaysian Government in 1999 had initiated the Malaysian Industrial Energy Efficiency Improvement Industrial Project (MIEEIP) in collaboration with United Nations Development Program (UNDP) through the Global Environment Facility (GEF) as the technical support and funding agency together with private sectors and other govern government agencies. With the aim of making energy management as an integral part of an organization management culture, Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) as the coordination agency together with UNIDO as the implementing agency of the GEF invites applicants to participate as trainees in the Systems Optimization training under the UNIDO Industrial Energy Efficiency for Malaysian Manufacturing Sector (IEEMMS) project. This national project project with the objective of promoting energy efficiency improvements in the Malaysian ts Malays manufacturing sector through the development of the National Energy Management Standard (MS ISO 50001) and System Optimization aims to develop pool of local experts in the energy management system as the long-term technical resource personnel for the term per industry specifically and the country as a whole. The systems optimization training is a comprehensive package of training materials and tools to equip these future local experts as the resource person in providing technical provid assistance on systems such as compressed air, pumps, motor/fan, steam and process heating to industries to help them achieve operational improvement and prepare organization for the MS ISO 50001 certification certification. Systems Optimization training are divided into different components covering the Pump trainings cover System, Fan System, Air Compressor System & Boiler , Boiler/Heating System. Upon completion of the training, these new Systems Optimization Experts will be recognized as Qualified Specialists for the particular system type in which they received training. These new experts they will receive a certificate from the organization providing the training.
