It is proposed to conduct a prize exam in Physiology by IMA, Kakinada branch on 04 th November 2012. Knowledge of physiology is essential to understand many medical subjects and promote research in medical sciences. The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, in the past were mostly awarded to Molecular physiology, Immunology, Genetics, Hormones, physiology of Digestion, Circulation and Respiration, Neurophysiology etc. Hence the IMA has selected this present prize exam in the subject of physiology to encourage and support undergraduate students of proven academic excellence to pursue research and to promote the learning culture in the constituent institutions. Prize Prizes will be awarded for First and second places: 1. Winner Littman stethoscope +Ganong Physiology text book + Innovative approaches in Type II Diabetes managementbook and a reference book of winners choice in his chosen subject not exceeding Rs.2000/- + Memento and certificate. 2. Runner-up-Littman stethoscope +Ganong Physiology text book + Innovative approaches in Type II Diabetes managementbook + Memento and certificate. In the event of two or more students being deemed to be of equal merit, the Prize may be shared. Eligibility The prize exam shall be open to all the present medical students of Rangaraya Medical College (Includes II and Final MBBS Students). Freshers, Internees and PG Students are NOT eligible. Procedure of applicationThe application formsare available with the Manager, students canteen, GGH campus. Interested students should submit filled in application forms along with photocopy of college ID card. They must also sign on the register kept for this purpose in the canteen at the time of submitting the application form. Last date of submission of application- The application must be submitted by Friday, 12 october 2012. Date of written examination Sunday , 04November 2012 Time and venue of examination will be printed in the hall ticket which will be issued at students canteen from Saturday, 27 October 2012. Format of Written examination - Includesonly written exam, there will not be any practical examination or orals. The duration of written exam will be 3 hours. There shall be 200 questionsand includes MCQs (with negative marking) and Fill in the blanks. Syllabus of examination: As prescribed for under graduate students of M B B S by Dr NTRUHS.
