222 - 88. The Chiefs of His

The chiefs of his 88. people, who were arrogant, said, Ò Shuaib! We will surely drive you out and those who have believed with you from our city, or you must return to our religion.` He said, Èven if we hate it?` `Verily we would 89. have fabricated a lie against Allah if we returned to your religion after Allah had saved us from it. And it is not for us that we return to it except that Allah, our Lord, wills. Our Lord encompasses all things in knowledge. Upon Allah we put our trust. Our Lord! Decide between us and our people in truth, and You are the Best of those who Decide.`
The chiefs of 90. those who disbelieved from his people said, Ìf you follow Shuaib, then, certainly, you will be losers.
91. So the earthquake seized them, then they became in their homes fallen prone (dead).
92. Those who denied Shuaib were as if they had never lived there. Those who denied Shuaib, they were the losers. 93. So he turned away from them and said, Ò my people! Verily, I have conveyed to you the Messages

from with you have believed and those who O Shuaib! we (are) Èven if He said, our religion.` to you must return or Allah against we would have fabricated `Verily, 88 from it. Allah saved us [when] after your religion to we returned if Allah wills that except in it we return that for us (it) is Allah Upon (in) knowledge. thing every Encompasses our Lord in truth our people and between between us Decide Our Lord! the chiefs And said 89 (of) those who Decide.` (are the) Best Shuaib, you follow Ìf his people, among disbelieved Then seized them 90 (will be) certainly losers. then 91 fallen prone. their home(s) in then they became there in. they (had) lived not (were) as if Shuaib denied So he turned away 92 the losers. they were Shuaib, denied (the) Messages I (have) conveyed to you Verily, ` my people! O and said,

And We sent to no city a Prophet except that We seized its people with adversity and hardship so that they may become humble. Then We 95. exchanged in place of the bad (condition), good, until they increased and said, ` Verily, our forefathers were touched with adversity and ease.`So seized them We suddenly, while they did not perceive. And if only the 96. people of the cities had believed and feared Allah, We would have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth, but they denied. So We seized them for what they used to earn. 97. Then did the people of the cities feel secure from Our punishment coming to them at night while they were asleep? 98. Or did the people of the cities feel secure from Our punishment coming to them in daylight while they were at play? 99. Did they then feel secure against the plan of Allah? But no one feels secure from the plan of Allah except the people who are losers. Would it not 100. guide those who inherit the land after

its people that if We willed, We could afflict them for their sins and put a seal over their hearts so they do not hear? 101. These cities - We relate to you some of their news. And certainly their Messengers came to them with clear proofs, but they would not believe in what they had denied before. Thus Allah put a seal on the hearts of the disbelievers. 102. And We did not find for most of them (loyalty to) any covenant. But certainly, We found most of them defiantly disobedient. 103. Then We sent after them Musa with Our Signs to Firaun and his chiefs, but they were unjust towards them. So see how was the end of the corrupters. And Musa said, 104. ` Firaun! Indeed, I am O a Messenger from the Lord of the worlds 105. Obligated not to say about Allah except the truth. Verily, I have come to you with a clear Sign from your Lord, so send with me the Children of Israel.` If 106. He (Firaun) said, ` you have come with a Sign, then bring it, if you are truthful.` 107. So he (Musa) threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent, manifest. 108. And he drew his hand

They said, 111. ` Postpone (the matter of) him and his brother and send in the cities gatherers 112. They will bring to you every learned magician.`

113. So the magicians came to the Firaun. They said, ` Indeed, there will be a reward for us if we are the victors.` Yes, and 114. He said, ` surely you will be of those near (to me).`
O 115. They said, ` Musa! Whether you throw or we will be the ones to throw.
Throw.` 116. He said, ` Then when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people and terrified them, and they came up with a great magic. 117. And We inspired to Musa, ` Throw your staff,` and suddenly it swallowed what they were falsifying. 118. So the truth was established, and what they used to do became futile. 119. So they were defeated right there and returned humiliated.
120. And the magicians fell down prostrate. 121. They said,

and indeed you ` Yes, He said, Whether ` Musa! O They said, 114 He said, 115 the ones to throw?` (of) the people, (the) eyes And We inspired 116 great. what swallow(ed) it what and became futile the truth, and returned there They said, 120 prostrate.

` believe in the Lord We of the worlds 122. Lord of Musa and Harun.` You 123. Firaun said, ` believed in him before I gave you permission. Indeed, this is a plot you have plotted in the city to drive out its people from it. But soon you will know. 124. I will surely cut off your hands and your feet of the opposite sides. Then I will surely crucify you all.` Indeed, 125. They said, ` to our Lord we will return.` And you do not 126. take revenge on us but for that we believed in the Signs of our Lord when they came to us, ` Our Lord! Pour upon us patience and let us die as Muslims.` And the chiefs of 127. the people of Firaun said, ` Will you leave Musa and his people to cause corruption in the land and forsake you and your gods?` He said, ` will kill their We sons and we will let live their women, and indeed, we are subjugators over them.` Musa said to his 128. people, ` Seek help from Allah and be patient. Indeed, the earth belongs to Allah. He gives it as inheritance to whom He wills of His servants. And the end is (best) for those who are God fearing.`

We 129. They said, ` have been harmed before you came to us and after you have come to us.` He said, ` Perhaps your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you successors in the earth, and see how you will do.`

130. And certainly, We seized the people of Firaun with years (of famine) and a deficit of fruits so that they may receive admonition.
But when good 131. came to them, they said, ` This is for us.` And if a bad (condition) afflicted them, they ascribed evil omens to Musa and those with him. Behold! Their evil omens are only with Allah but most of them do not know. And they said, 132. ` Whatever sign you bring to bewitch us therewith, we will not believe in you.`
133. So We sent on them the flood, locusts, lice, frogs and blood as manifest signs, but they showed arrogance and were a criminal people. And when the 134. punishment fell on them, they said, ` O Musa! Invoke your Lord for us by what He has promised you. If you remove the punishment from us,

[that] your Lord ` Perhaps He said, you have come to us.` [that] then see the earth, in and make you successors your enemy (of) Firaun (the) people We seized And certainly, 129 you will do.` so that they may [the] fruits, of and a deficit they said, the good came to them But when 130 to Musa they ascribe evil omens bad, afflicts them And if but Allah (are) with their evil omens Only Behold! (were) with him. you bring us ` Whatever And they said, 131 know. (do) not (will be) in you we then not with it, so that you bewitch us (the) sign of and the lice and the locusts the flood on them So We sent 132 but they showed arrogance manifest, (as) signs and the blood on them fell And when 133 a criminal people. by what your Lord for us Invoke ` Musa! O they said, the punishment from us you remove If to you.

And We made 137. inheritors, the people who were considered weak, of the eastern parts of the land and the western parts, which We had blessed. And the best word of your Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel because they were patient. And We destroyed what Firaun and his people used to make and what used to erect. And We took the 138. Children of Israel across the sea. Then they came upon a people devoted to idols they had. They said, ` O Musa! Make for us a god just as they have gods. He said, ` Indeed, you are an ignorant people.` ` Indeed, these 139. (people) - destroyed is that in which they are (engaged) and vain is what they used to do.` 140. He said, ` Should

And when he recovered, he said, `Glory be to You! I You turn to in repentance, and I am the first of the believers.` 144. He said, Ò Musa! Indeed, I have chosen you over

And We ordained (laws) for him on the tablets regarding everything, an exhortation and explanation for everything, ` So take them with firmness and order your people to take the best of it. I will show you the home of the defiantly disobedient.` 146. I will turn away from My Signs those who are arrogant on the earth without right; and even if they see every sign, they will not believe in it. And if they see the way of righteousness, they will not adopt it as a way, and if they see the way of error, they will adopt it as a way. That is because they denied Our Signs and they were heedless of them. 147. Those who denied Our Signs and meeting of the Hereafter, vain are their deeds. Will they be recompensed except for what they used to do? 148. And the people of Musa made, after his (departure), from their ornaments an image of a calf, which gave a lowing sound. Did they not see that it

Were you impatient over the matter of your Lord?` And he cast down the tablets and seized his brother by his head dragging him towards himself. He (Harun) said, ` son of my O mother! Indeed, the people considered me weak and were about to kill me. So let not the enemies rejoice over me and do not place me among the wrongdoing people.` O 151. He (Musa) said, ` my Lord! Forgive me and my brother and admit us into Your Mercy, for You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.` Indeed, those who 152. took the calf (for worship) will be reach them the wrath from their Lord and humiliation in the life of this world. And thus We recompense the inventors (of falsehood). 153. And those who do

And when the 154. anger of Musa calmed down, he took up the tablets, and in their inscription was guidance and mercy for those who are fearful of their Lord. 155. And Musa chose from his people seventy men for Our appointment. Then when the earthquake seized them, he said, ` O my Lord! If You had willed, You could have destroy them before and me (as well). Would You destroy us for what the foolish among us have done? This is not but Your trial by which You let go astray whom You will and guide whom You will. You are our Protector, so forgive us and have mercy upon us, and You are the Best of Forgivers.

the unlettered Prophet, whom they find written in what they have of the Taurat and the Injeel. He commands them to that which is right and forbids them from that which is wrong and makes lawful for them the pure things and makes unlawful for them the impure things and relieves them of their burden and the fetters which were upon them. So those who believe in him, honor him, and help him and follow the light, which has been sent down with him, those are the successful ones.` O 158. Say, ` mankind! Indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you all to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. There is no god except Him, He gives life and causes death. So believe in Allah and His Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, who believes in Allah and His Words, and follow him so that you may be guided.` And among the 159. people of Musa is a community which guides by truth and by it establishes justice. And We 160. divided them into twelve tribes as communities. And We inspired to Musa when his people asked him for water,

And We shaded them with clouds, and We sent down upon them the manna and the quails. ` of the good things Eat which have We provided you.` And they did not wrong Us but they were (only) wronging themselves.

So We sent upon them torment from the sky because they were doing wrong. And ask them 163. about the town which was by the sea, when they transgressed in the (matter of) Sabbath, when their fish came to them visibly on the day of their Sabbath and the day they had no Sabbath they did not come to them. Thus tested them We because they were

And when a 164. community among them said, ` Why do you preach a people whom Allah is going to destroy or is going to punish them with a severe punishment?` They said, ` To be absolved before your Lord and that they may become God conscious.` So when they 165. forgot what they had been reminded with, We saved those who had forbidden evil and seized those who wronged with a wretched punishment because they were defiantly disobeying. So when they 166. exceeded all bounds about what they had been forbidden, We said to them, ` apes, Be despised.` And when your 167. Lord declared that He would surely send upon them until the Day of Resurrection those who would afflict them with a grievous punishment. Indeed, your Lord is swift in retribution, but indeed, He is OftForgiving, Most Merciful.

The chiefs of his 88. people, who were arrogant, said, Ò Shuaib! We will surely drive you out and those who have believed with you from our city, or you must return to our religion.` He said, Èven if we hate it?` `Verily we would 89. have fabricated a lie against Allah if we returned to your religion after Allah had saved us from it. And it is not for us that we return to it except that Allah, our Lord, wills. Our Lord encompasses all things in knowledge. Upon Allah we put our trust. Our Lord! Decide between us and our people in truth, and You are the Best of those who Decide.`
The chiefs of 90. those who disbelieved from his people said, Ìf you follow Shuaib, then, certainly, you will be losers.
91. So the earthquake seized them, then they became in their homes fallen prone (dead).
92. Those who denied Shuaib were as if they had never lived there. Those who denied Shuaib, they were the losers. 93. So he turned away from them and said, Ò my people! Verily, I have conveyed to you the Messages

from with you have believed and those who O Shuaib! we (are) Èven if He said, our religion.` to you must return or Allah against we would have fabricated `Verily, 88 from it. Allah saved us [when] after your religion to we returned if Allah wills that except in it we return that for us (it) is Allah Upon (in) knowledge. thing every Encompasses our Lord in truth our people and between between us Decide Our Lord! the chiefs And said 89 (of) those who Decide.` (are the) Best Shuaib, you follow Ìf his people, among disbelieved Then seized them 90 (will be) certainly losers. then 91 fallen prone. their home(s) in then they became there in. they (had) lived not (were) as if Shuaib denied So he turned away 92 the losers. they were Shuaib, denied (the) Messages I (have) conveyed to you Verily, ` my people! O and said,

And We sent to no city a Prophet except that We seized its people with adversity and hardship so that they may become humble. Then We 95. exchanged in place of the bad (condition), good, until they increased and said, ` Verily, our forefathers were touched with adversity and ease.`So seized them We suddenly, while they did not perceive. And if only the 96. people of the cities had believed and feared Allah, We would have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth, but they denied. So We seized them for what they used to earn. 97. Then did the people of the cities feel secure from Our punishment coming to them at night while they were asleep? 98. Or did the people of the cities feel secure from Our punishment coming to them in daylight while they were at play? 99. Did they then feel secure against the plan of Allah? But no one feels secure from the plan of Allah except the people who are losers. Would it not 100. guide those who inherit the land after

its people that if We willed, We could afflict them for their sins and put a seal over their hearts so they do not hear? 101. These cities - We relate to you some of their news. And certainly their Messengers came to them with clear proofs, but they would not believe in what they had denied before. Thus Allah put a seal on the hearts of the disbelievers. 102. And We did not find for most of them (loyalty to) any covenant. But certainly, We found most of them defiantly disobedient. 103. Then We sent after them Musa with Our Signs to Firaun and his chiefs, but they were unjust towards them. So see how was the end of the corrupters. And Musa said, 104. ` Firaun! Indeed, I am O a Messenger from the Lord of the worlds 105. Obligated not to say about Allah except the truth. Verily, I have come to you with a clear Sign from your Lord, so send with me the Children of Israel.` If 106. He (Firaun) said, ` you have come with a Sign, then bring it, if you are truthful.` 107. So he (Musa) threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent, manifest. 108. And he drew his hand

They said, 111. ` Postpone (the matter of) him and his brother and send in the cities gatherers 112. They will bring to you every learned magician.`

113. So the magicians came to the Firaun. They said, ` Indeed, there will be a reward for us if we are the victors.` Yes, and 114. He said, ` surely you will be of those near (to me).`
O 115. They said, ` Musa! Whether you throw or we will be the ones to throw.
Throw.` 116. He said, ` Then when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people and terrified them, and they came up with a great magic. 117. And We inspired to Musa, ` Throw your staff,` and suddenly it swallowed what they were falsifying. 118. So the truth was established, and what they used to do became futile. 119. So they were defeated right there and returned humiliated.
120. And the magicians fell down prostrate. 121. They said,

and indeed you ` Yes, He said, Whether ` Musa! O They said, 114 He said, 115 the ones to throw?` (of) the people, (the) eyes And We inspired 116 great. what swallow(ed) it what and became futile the truth, and returned there They said, 120 prostrate.

` believe in the Lord We of the worlds 122. Lord of Musa and Harun.` You 123. Firaun said, ` believed in him before I gave you permission. Indeed, this is a plot you have plotted in the city to drive out its people from it. But soon you will know. 124. I will surely cut off your hands and your feet of the opposite sides. Then I will surely crucify you all.` Indeed, 125. They said, ` to our Lord we will return.` And you do not 126. take revenge on us but for that we believed in the Signs of our Lord when they came to us, ` Our Lord! Pour upon us patience and let us die as Muslims.` And the chiefs of 127. the people of Firaun said, ` Will you leave Musa and his people to cause corruption in the land and forsake you and your gods?` He said, ` will kill their We sons and we will let live their women, and indeed, we are subjugators over them.` Musa said to his 128. people, ` Seek help from Allah and be patient. Indeed, the earth belongs to Allah. He gives it as inheritance to whom He wills of His servants. And the end is (best) for those who are God fearing.`

We 129. They said, ` have been harmed before you came to us and after you have come to us.` He said, ` Perhaps your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you successors in the earth, and see how you will do.`

130. And certainly, We seized the people of Firaun with years (of famine) and a deficit of fruits so that they may receive admonition.
But when good 131. came to them, they said, ` This is for us.` And if a bad (condition) afflicted them, they ascribed evil omens to Musa and those with him. Behold! Their evil omens are only with Allah but most of them do not know. And they said, 132. ` Whatever sign you bring to bewitch us therewith, we will not believe in you.`
133. So We sent on them the flood, locusts, lice, frogs and blood as manifest signs, but they showed arrogance and were a criminal people. And when the 134. punishment fell on them, they said, ` O Musa! Invoke your Lord for us by what He has promised you. If you remove the punishment from us,

[that] your Lord ` Perhaps He said, you have come to us.` [that] then see the earth, in and make you successors your enemy (of) Firaun (the) people We seized And certainly, 129 you will do.` so that they may [the] fruits, of and a deficit they said, the good came to them But when 130 to Musa they ascribe evil omens bad, afflicts them And if but Allah (are) with their evil omens Only Behold! (were) with him. you bring us ` Whatever And they said, 131 know. (do) not (will be) in you we then not with it, so that you bewitch us (the) sign of and the lice and the locusts the flood on them So We sent 132 but they showed arrogance manifest, (as) signs and the blood on them fell And when 133 a criminal people. by what your Lord for us Invoke ` Musa! O they said, the punishment from us you remove If to you.

And We made 137. inheritors, the people who were considered weak, of the eastern parts of the land and the western parts, which We had blessed. And the best word of your Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel because they were patient. And We destroyed what Firaun and his people used to make and what used to erect. And We took the 138. Children of Israel across the sea. Then they came upon a people devoted to idols they had. They said, ` O Musa! Make for us a god just as they have gods. He said, ` Indeed, you are an ignorant people.` ` Indeed, these 139. (people) - destroyed is that in which they are (engaged) and vain is what they used to do.` 140. He said, ` Should

And when he recovered, he said, `Glory be to You! I You turn to in repentance, and I am the first of the believers.` 144. He said, Ò Musa! Indeed, I have chosen you over

And We ordained (laws) for him on the tablets regarding everything, an exhortation and explanation for everything, ` So take them with firmness and order your people to take the best of it. I will show you the home of the defiantly disobedient.` 146. I will turn away from My Signs those who are arrogant on the earth without right; and even if they see every sign, they will not believe in it. And if they see the way of righteousness, they will not adopt it as a way, and if they see the way of error, they will adopt it as a way. That is because they denied Our Signs and they were heedless of them. 147. Those who denied Our Signs and meeting of the Hereafter, vain are their deeds. Will they be recompensed except for what they used to do? 148. And the people of Musa made, after his (departure), from their ornaments an image of a calf, which gave a lowing sound. Did they not see that it

Indeed, the people considered me weak and were about to kill me. So let not the enemies rejoice over me and do not place me among the wrongdoing people.` O 151. He (Musa) said, ` my Lord! Forgive me and my brother and admit us into Your Mercy, for You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.` Indeed, those who 152. took the calf (for worship) will be reach them the wrath from their Lord and humiliation in the life of this world. And thus We recompense the inventors (of falsehood). 153. And those who do

And when the 154. anger of Musa calmed down, he took up the tablets, and in their inscription was guidance and mercy for those who are fearful of their Lord. 155. And Musa chose from his people seventy men for Our appointment. Then when the earthquake seized them, he said, ` O my Lord! If You had willed, You could have destroy them before and me (as well). Would You destroy us for what the foolish among us have done? This is not but Your trial by which You let go astray whom You will and guide whom You will. You are our Protector, so forgive us and have mercy upon us, and You are the Best of Forgivers.

He commands them to that which is right and forbids them from that which is wrong and makes lawful for them the pure things and makes unlawful for them the impure things and relieves them of their burden and the fetters which were upon them. So those who believe in him, honor him, and help him and follow the light, which has been sent down with him, those are the successful ones.` O 158. Say, ` mankind! Indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you all to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. There is no god except Him, He gives life and causes death. So believe in Allah and His Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, who believes in Allah and His Words, and follow him so that you may be guided.` And among the 159. people of Musa is a community which guides by truth and by it establishes justice. And We 160. divided them into twelve tribes as communities. And We inspired to Musa when his people asked him for water,

And when a 164. community among them said, ` Why do you preach a people whom Allah is going to destroy or is going to punish them with a severe punishment?` They said, ` To be absolved before your Lord and that they may become God conscious.` So when they 165. forgot what they had been reminded with, We saved those who had forbidden evil and seized those who wronged with a wretched punishment because they were defiantly disobeying. So when they 166. exceeded all bounds about what they had been forbidden, We said to them, ` apes, Be despised.` And when your 167. Lord declared that He would surely send upon them until the Day of Resurrection those who would afflict them with a grievous punishment. Indeed, your Lord is swift in retribution, but indeed, He is OftForgiving, Most Merciful.

Was not the Covenant of the Book taken from them that they would not say about Allah except the truth while they studied what is in it? And the home of the Hereafter is better for those who are God fearing. So will you not use your intellect? 170. And those who hold fast to the Book and establish prayer indeed, We will not let go waste the reward of the reformers. 171. And when We raised the mountain above them as if it was a canopy and they thought that it would fall upon them, (We said), `Hold firmly what We have given you and remember what is in it so that you may fear God.` 172. And when your Lord took from the Children of Adam from their loins - their descendents and made them testify over themselves, Àm I not your Lord?` They said, `Yes, we have testified.` (This) - lest you say on the Day of Resurrection, Ìndeed, we were unaware about this.` 173. Or you say, Ìt was only that our forefathers associated partners (with Allah),

and we are their descendants after them. So will You destroy us for what the falsifiers did?` And thus We 174. explain the Verses so that they may return. And recite to 175. them the story of the one whom We gave Our Signs, but he detached them, so Shaitaan followed him and he became of those gone astray.

So relate the stories that they may reflect. Evil as an 177. example are the people who denied Our Signs and used to wrong themselves. 178. Whoever Allah guides, he is the guided one while whoever He lets go astray, those are the losers. And certainly 179. We have created many jinn and men for Hell. They have hearts with which they do not

understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. Those are like cattle; nay, they are more astray. Those are the heedless. And to Allah 180. belong the most beautiful names, so invoke Him by them. And leave those who deviate concerning His name. They will be recompensed for what they used to do. And among 181. those We created is a nation, which guides by truth and thereby establishes justice. But those who 182. deny Our Signs, We will gradually lead them (to destruction) from where they do not know. And I will give 183. respite to them. Indeed, My plan is firm. 184. Do they not reflect? There is no madness in their companion. He is but a clear warner. Do they not look 185. in the dominion of the heavens and the earth and everything that Allah has created and that perhaps their term has come near? So in what statement after this will they believe? Whoever Allah 186. lets go astray -

None can reveal its time except Him. It lays heavily upon the heavens and the earth. It will not come to you but suddenly.` They ask you as if you were well informed about it. Say, ` Its knowledge is only with Allah, but most of the people do not know.` Say, ` have no I 188. power for myself to benefit or harm, except what Allah wills. And if I had knowledge of the unseen, I could have multiplied all good and no evil would have touched me. I am not except a warner and a bearer of good tidings to a people who believe.` 189. He is the One created you Who from a single soul and made from it its mate that he might live with her. And when he covers her, she carries a light burden and continues with it. But when she grows heavy, they both invoke Allah, their Lord, ` You If give us

Exalted is Allah above what they associate with Him. Do they associate 191. with Him those who create nothing and they are (themselves) created? And they are 192. unable to (give) them any help, nor can they help themselves. And if you call 193. them to guidance, they will not follow you. It is the same for you whether you call them or you are silent. Indeed, those you 194. call besides Allah are slaves like you. So invoke them and let them respond to you, if you are truthful. Do they have feet 195. by which they walk? Or do they have hands by which they hold? Or do they have eyes by which they see? Or do they have ears by which they hear? Say, ` Call your partners and then scheme against me and give me no respite.` Indeed, my 196. protector is Allah, Who has revealed the Book

and He protects the righteous. And those whom 197. you invoke besides Him are unable to help you, nor can they help themselves. And if you call 198. them to guidance, they do not hear. And you see them looking at you but they do not see. Hold to 199. forgiveness, and enjoin what is good, and turn away from the ignorant. 200. And if incites you an evil suggestion from Shaitaan, then seek refuge in Allah. Indeed, He is All-Hearing, AllKnowing. 201. Indeed, those who fear Allah when an evil thought from Shaitaan touches them, they remember Allah and then they see (aright). 202. But their brothers plunge them in error, then they do not cease. 203. And when you do not bring them a Sign, they say, ` Why have you not devised it?` Say, ` only follow I what is revealed to me form my Lord. This (Quran) is enlightenment from your Lord and guidance and mercy for a people who believe.` And when the 204. Quran is recited, then listen to it and pay attention

They ask you concerning the spoils of war. Say, ` spoils of The war are for Allah and His Messenger. So fear Allah and set right that which is between you and obey Allah and His Messenger, if you are believers.`

and a noble provision. 5. Just as your Lord brought you out of your home in truth, while indeed, a party among the believers disliked. They dispute with you concerning the truth after it was made clear, as if they were driven to death while they were looking on. And when Allah promised you one of the two groups - that it would be yours - and you wished that the unarmed one would be yours. But Allah intended to justify the truth by His words and to eliminate the disbelievers That He might justify the truth and prove false the falsehood, even if the criminals disliked it. When you sought help of your Lord, and answered you, He Ìndeed, I will reinforce you with a thousand Angels, following one another.`

to purify you with it and remove from you the evil (suggestions) of the Shaitaan and to strengthen your hearts and make firm thereby your feet. When your Lord 12. inspired to the Angels, ` Am with you, so I strengthen those who believed. I will cast terror in the hearts of those who disbelieved, so strike above their necks and strike of theirs every fingertip.` 13. That is because they opposed Allah and His Messenger. And whoever opposes Allah and His Messenger, then indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.

And whoever 16. turns his back to them on that day, except as a strategy of war or to join (his) group, has certainly incurred the wrath of Allah and his abode is Hell, a wretched destination. 17. And you did not kill them, but Allah killed them. And you threw not

when you threw, but it was Allah Who threw so that He might test the believers with a good trial from Himself. Indeed, Allah is All-Hearing, AllKnowing. 18. That (is the case) and (know) that Allah weakens the plan of the disbelievers. 19. If you ask for victory, then certainly the victory has come to you. And if you desist, it is good for you, but if you will return, We too will return. And never will your forces avail you anything, even if they are numerous. And Allah is with the believers. 20. O you who believe! Obey Allah and His Messenger. And do not turn away from him when you hear (his order). And do not be like 21. those who say, ` We hear,`while they do not hear. Indeed, worst of 22. the living creatures in the sight of Allah are the deaf and the dumb, those who do not use reason. And had Allah 23. known any good in them, He would have made them hear. And if He had made them hear, they would (still) have turned away, while they were averse. 24. O you who believe! Respond to Allah

And that, with Allah is a great reward. 29. O you who believe! If you fear Allah, He will grant you a criterion and will remove from you your sins and forgive you. And Allah is the Possessor of Great Bounty. And when those 30. who disbelieved plotted against you to restrain you

Allah not punish them while they hinder (people) from AlMasjid Al-Haraam while they are not its guardians? None can be its guardian except those who are God conscious, but most of them do not know. And their prayer at 35. the House was nothing but whistling and clapping. So taste the punishment because you used to disbelieve. 36. Indeed, those who

disbelieve spend their wealth to hinder (people) from the way of Allah. So they will spend it, then it will be a (source of) regret for them, then they will be overcome. And those who disbelieve, they will be gathered to Hell.
