Sports Center and a few minutes before the Mass, the signal will be given for the video to be played. While the video is being played, the coffin will already be transported from the MPC in processionled by the portrait of Fr. Zulo and carried by AAXS presidents (Rudy Ang, Dobbin Tan, Jing Velasco, Jeffrey Siy, Manny Acero, and Samson Lim) and the HS SC President. The group is followed by the members of the Board of Trustees, Top Level Administrators, and XSPA Excom members and the concelebrating priests. When the video ends and the entourage is ready, the commentator speaks. Commentator: Good morning. As one Xavier School Community, we gather today for the Funeral Mass for our beloved Rev. Fr. Ismael G. Zuloaga, S.J. Fr. Zuloaga entered the Society of Jesus on September 14, 1943, and was ordained a priest on March 18, 1957. He is the longest serving Director of Xavier School, from 1965 to 1985. But for another twenty years after Xavier, he served as the Delegate for the China Province and was involved in various works of the Jesuits in the Asia Pacific Region as the head of the China Office and then as President of the Jesuit Conference of East Asia and Oceania. Upon his return to Xavier School, he was appointed the Head of the Development and Alumni Relations Office in 2004, and elected the Chairman of the Board of Trustees in 2005. His remains will now be carried in procession by the High School Student Council President, Daniel Henry Ng, and the past Presidents of the Alumni Association of Xavier School: Manny Acero, Rudy Ang, Samson Lim, Jeffrey Siy, Dobbin Tan, and Jing Velasco. Accompanying them are members of Xavier Schools Board of Trustees, the officers of Xavier School Parents Auxiliary, and our school administrators from Xavier School San Juan, ERDA Technical and Vocational High School, and Xavier School Nuvali. Let us all rise to honor our beloved Fr. Ismael Zuloaga.

While the coffin is brought in only after the instrumental version of Luceat Lux Strings begins playing. The Easter Candle is placed beforehand near the position the coffin will occupy at the conclusion of the procession. INTRODUCTION Commentator: The Provincial Superior of the Society of Jesus in the Philippines will preside over our Eucharistic Celebration. The concelebrating will be led by Fr. Johnny Go, S.J., our School Director, Fr. Xavier Olin, S.J., Superior of the Jesuit community, and the designated representative of the Chinese Province, Fr. Beda Liu, S.J. Please remain standing as we join in the Entrance Song. ENTRANCE SONG GREETING The Entrance Procession is led by the censer bearer, cross bearer, candle bearers, Bro. Kim Min Cheol carrying the Book of Gospels, concelebrants, presider. The priests go up the stage and make the customary reverence to the altar and kiss itwith the exception of Frs. Magadia, Olin, and Go. OFFERING OF INCENSE Fr. Magadia is given three sticks of incense and with Frs. Olin and Go, he bows once before the coffin. They go up the stage, kiss the altar, and Fr. Magadia goes around the altar with the incense, bowing once again in front of the altar. He then gives the sticks to the server who places it in the burner. The Rite of Reception is held and takes the place of the usual Introductory Rites of the Mass. Presider: People: Presider: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. SPRINKLING WITH HOLY WATER The presider approaches the coffin, and then sprinkles it with holy water saying: Presider: In the waters of baptism Ismael dies with Christ and rose with him to new life. May he now share with him eternal glory.

PLACING OF THE PALL The pall is then placed on the coffin by the servers. Presider: On the day of his baptism, Ismael put on Christ. In the day of his coming, may he be clothed with glory.

PLACING OF CHRISTIAN SYMBOLS While the Book of the Gospels in placed on the coffin, the presider says: Presider: In life, Ismael cherished the Gospel of Christ. May Christ now greet him with these words of eternal life: Come, blessed of my Father!

While the crucifix is placed on the coffin, the presider says: Presider: In baptism, Ismael received the sign of the cross. May he now share in Christs victory over sin and death.

The presider returns to the altar for the Collect. COLLECT Presider: Let us pray. Brief silence. Grant, we pray, O Lord, that the soul of Ismael, your servant and Priest, whom you honored with sacred office while he lived in this world,

The deacon incenses the Gospel Book using three sticks of incense, and bowing three times towards it. Afterwards, he gives the sticks to the server to be placed in the burner. Deacon: You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its taste, with what can it be seasoned? It is no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house. PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL Presider: Brothers and sisters, Jesus Christ is risen from the dead and sits at the right hand of the Father, where he intercedes for his Church. Confident that God hears the voices of those who trust in the Lord Jesus, we join our prayers to his. In every petition, let us pray: LORD, GRACIOUSLY HEAR US. GS Student: In baptism, Fr. Zuloaga received the light of Christ. May his life and example inspire the members of the Xavier School Community to continue nursing the light of others, especially the students. Lord, hear us: HS Student: Fr. Zuloaga shared in the priesthood of Jesus Christ, leading and serving God's people with humility. May the students and alumni of the School persevere to be men fully alive endowed with a passion for justice and skills for development. Lord, hear us: Parent: In his priestly ministry, Fr. Zuloaga served as spiritual father to many. May Xavier parents take inspiration from him as they live out their vocation as parents. Lord, hear us: We are assembled here in faith and confidence to pray for our brother Ismael. Strengthen our hope so that we may live in the expectation of your Son's coming. THE LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST PREPARATION OF THE GIFTS The bread and wine will be brought by Fred Tiu and GS Student Council President. The presider incenses the altar and gifts using three sticks of incense, by going around the altar. He then gives the sticks to the deacon who incenses him with one bow. He also incenses the concelebrants in the same manner. Afterwards, the commentator asks the assembly to stand, and the deacon incenses the people with one bow. The sticks are then given to the server to be placed in the burner. Presider: People: Pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be accpetable to God, the almighty Father. May the lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of his name, for our good and the good of all his holy Church.

To represent the students, may we call on Mr. Francis Joseph Tan of High 3C. To read the message of Mrs. Jenny Go, former Principal of Xavier School, may we call on Mrs. Luisa Relatado, former High School English Department Chair. To represent the alumni, may we call on Mr. Johnip Cua, alumnus and member of the Board of Trustees. ANCESTRAL RITES Afterwards, the Commentator introduces the Ancestral Rites, as the School Director, and Xavier Community representatives take their place in front of the coffin/ancestral altar. Commentator: Please be seated. As one Xavier School community, we shall now honor Fr. Zuloaga with the Catholic Chinese ancestral rites. We now call on the representatives of our community to take their places before the ancestral altar: our school Director, Fr. Johnny Go SJ, the members of the board of trustees, the officials of the Alumni Association and Parents Auxiliary, and our school administrators. Please all rise in reverent silence. Commentator: Our School Director, Fr. Go, will now offer incense on our behalf to symbolize our prayers and good wishes for Fr. Zuloaga. The assistant lights two sticks of incense and hands it to Fr. Go, who will bow only ONCE with the incense. Fr. Go then gives the incense back to the assistant, who puts it in the incense burner. Commentator: Mrs. Jane Natividad, school administrator, will now offer flowers on our behalf, symbol of our love and affection for Fr. Zuloaga. The assistant takes the flowers from the side table, hands them to Jane Natividad, a designated school administrator, who makes one bow while holding the flowers. These are then put on the altar by the assistant. The same movement is followed for the wine and the fruits. Commentator: Alumnus and board member, Mr. Miguel Tan, will now offer wine on our behalf to symbolize our passion for and commitment to the Xavier School mission so deeply loved by Fr. Zuloaga.

The assistant takes the flowers from the side table, hands them to Mike Tan, a member of the Board of Trustees, who makes one bow while holding the flowers. These are then put on the altar by the assistant. Commentator: George Lee, Chairman of the Xavier School Parents Auxiliary will now offer fruits on behalf of the community as a symbol of our pledge to embody and live out the Xavier values that Fr. Zuloaga envisioned for us. The assistant takes the flowers from the side table, hands them to George Lee, Chairman of the XSPA, who makes one bow while holding the flowers. These are then put on the altar by the assistant. Prayers and Ritual Bows Commentator: God wills that we remember our ancestors and honor the memory of Fr. Zuloaga. Let us now ask our heavenly Father to welcome him to his eternal abode. Let us pray Our Father in heaven. Commentator: Let us also beg for the intercession of our Holy Mother Mary, that she may pray for Fr. Zuloagas eternal peace. Hail Mary full of grace Commentator: Finally let us pray the Glory Be for Fr. Zuloaga, that he may join the saints in the heavenly kingdom, and together sing the praises of the Holy Trinity. Glory be to the Father Commentator: At this point, the entire Xavier School Community shall now express its love and gratitude to Fr. Zuloaga by offering three deep profound bows according to our Chinese tradition. At each sound of the gong, please make one deep and reverential bow. The commentator sounds the gong three times, with a brief pause in-between each, to signal the entire assembly to bow (let the echo fade first). After the third bow, all return to their places.

Commentator: Please be seated for a moment. The Provincial will give some word of thanks. Afterwards the assembly will be asked to stand. Commentator: Before we proceed to the concluding portion of our liturgy, we would like to inform everyone that the burial will be at the Sacred Heart Novitiate in Novaliches. Those who are riding the bus are requested to make their exit at Gates 2 and 4 where the buses are stationed. Those who would like to convoy are welcome to do so. We shall now have the final commendation and farewell. FINAL COMMENDATION The presider goes to a place near the coffin, faces the people, and begins the final commendation. Invitation to Prayer Presider: Before we go our separate ways, let us take leave of our brother, Ismael. May our farewell express our affection for him; may it ease our sadness and strengthen our hope. One day we shall joyfully greet him again when the love of Christ, which conquers all things, destroys even death itself.

Silence All pray in silence. The presider then sprinkles the coffin with holy water and incenses it. SONG OF FAREWELL Presider: People: Presider: Saints of God, come to his aid! Hasten to meet him, angels of the Lord. Receive his soul and present him to God the Most High. May Christ, who called you, take you to himself; may angels lead you to the bosom of Abraham.

As the School Song is being sung, the crucifix, Book of the Gospels, and the pall are removed. The recessional procession begins moving when the second song begins, in this order: cross bearer, candle bearers, other servers, concelebrants, presider, representatives of the Xavier Community (entourage), the portrait of Fr. Zuloaga and finally, the pallbearers carrying the coffin. Upon reaching the entrance to the Gate 4 ramp, the concelebrants and representatives of the Xavier Community will form 2 lines until the center of the Sports Center, and the coffin will pass through them. When the coffin has moved some distance from the stage, the commentator says: Commentator: Let us all give Fr. Zuloaga a warm round of applause.
