XL World Romania launches massive recruitment plan to support English language BPO

XL World Romania is hiring 200 English-speaking agents to support the increasing demands
from the UK and US BPO markets. The new agents will join a new unit focused on the English-
only market that will work alongside the current divisions focused on multi-lingual outsourcing
and on Italian-only customers.

LONDON, September 25th, 2006 – XL World has begun a significant/extensive recruitment plan
aimed to consolidate its position on the English-speaking markets. The initiative is a result of
increasing demand from UK and US companies requiring English-language support.

The recruitment process, which will take place over the next two months, will ensure that 200
new practitioners are hired and fully trained by the end of November. XL World currently
employs 700 people who deliver multi-lingual call centre services and BPO from 4 sites in
Romania. Currently only 20% of the team is dedicated to projects in English: the plan accounts
for a 100% growth in English language capabilities of the company.

Commenting on the latest announcements, Daniele Cavallini, Administrator of XL World said:

We want to take a step further and consolidate our position on the English-only outsourcing

Romania’s excellent multi–lingual skills make it an attractive near-shore destination for

outsourcing services. According to The Eastern European Translators Association 60% of the
Romanian population speaks a foreign language, usually English, whereas some 25% speak
two foreign languages.

This recruitment plan follows the launch of a number of initiatives in 2006 which have
substantially grown XL World’s business, the latest of which was the opening of a new site that
added 100 seats to the existing infrastructure.
