Pray through Gods Story (Week 41)

Focus on God
Honor Jesus the Son of God by declaring his greatness. Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing. And greater works than these will he show him, so that you may marvel. For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whom he will. The Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son, that all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him. (John 5:19-23)

Respond from the Heart

Ask God to forgive you for having the legalistic righteousness and external obedience like the Pharisees. Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:19-20)

Seek First the Kingdom

Pray that the Spirit will cause those who hear the gospel be truly born again. Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of GodTruly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit (John 3:3-8) Pray that our church will be true worshippers. But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth. (John 4:23-24)

Present Your Requests

Ask the Lord to help you trust him more and not be anxious. Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? (Matthew 6:25-26)

Close in Celebration
Rejoice in the gifts God has given you. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through himFor he whom God has sent utters the words of God, for he gives the Spirit without measureWhoever believes in the Son has eternal life(John 3:16-17, 34-36)
