This standard has been prepared by ECISS/TC 29 Steel tubes and fittings for steel tubes (Secretariat: Italy). The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Eisen und Stahl (Steel and Iron Standards Committee), Technical Committee Rohre aus allgemeinen Bausthlen oder Feinkornbausthlen. DIN V 17006-100 is the standard corresponding to CEN Technical Report CR 10260 referred to in clause 2 of the EN. Amendments This standard differs from the August 2002 edition in that more detailed specifications regarding inspection have been given and Annex ZA has been revised. This European Standard has been prepared by Technical Committee ECISS/TC 29 Steel tubes and fittings for steel tubes, the Secretariat of which is held by UNI. This European Standard has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements of the relevant EU Directive. For relationship with this directive, see Annex ZA. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, and conflicting national standards withdrawn, by November 2002 at the latest. Other parts of EN 10217 are: Part 2: Electric welded non-alloy and alloy steel tubes with specified elevated temperature properties Part 3: Alloy fine grain steel tubes Part 4: Electric welded non-alloy steel tubes with specified low temperature properties Part 5: Submerged arc welded non-alloy and alloy steel tubes with specified elevated temperature properties Part 6: Submerged arc welded non-alloy steel tubes with specified low temperature properties Part 7: Stainless steel tubes Another European Standard series covering tubes for pressure purposes is: EN 10216 Seamless steel tubes for pressure purposes. In accordance with the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the following countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
