A steady stream of information is needed to enable firms to make planning decisions and to control their operations.

The qualified and relevant information can only be derived from a good information system, which is a system that can fulfill the specifications required by the organization and developed by skilled and experienced human resources in system development process. This process has caused the organization as a system user to choose between two choices. The first option is to let the developer to handle everything, under system developer responsibility without any interference from information user. The second option, is allowing the information user to participate in the process of system development. The problem investegated by the researcher are : 1. Is user participation related to user satisfaction in positive and significant way? 2. Is task complexity a moderating variable which strengthen the effect of the user participation on the user satisfaction? 3. Is system complexity a moderating variable which strengthen the effect of the user participation on the user satisfaction? 4. Is user influence a moderating variable which strengthen the effect of the user participation on the user satisfaction? 5. Is user-developer communication a moderating variable which strengthen the effect of the user participation on the user satisfaction? The purpose of the research is provide the better explanation about the effects of the four contingency factors consist of task complexity, system complexity, user influence and user-developer communication on the relationship between user participation and user satisfaction. Based on theoretical framework .the researcher delevop hypothesis : 1. A positive relationship exists between user participation and user satisfaction 2. The greater the task complexity, the greater the relationship between user participation and user satisfaction 3. The greater the system complexity, the greater the relationship between user participation and user satisfaction 4. The greater user influence, the greater the relationship between user participation and user satisfaction

5. The greater the quality of user-developer communication, the greater the relationship between user participation and user satisfaction The researcher use hypotesis testing. The researcher are test the five hypothesis related to the user participation as the independent variable, the effects of contingency factors consist of task complexity, system complexity, users influence and user-developer communication as the moderating variables and user satisfaction as the dependent variable. Time dimension used by the researcher is cross sectional, because it involved a certain period with using large amount of samples. The depth level of this research is statistic study (not too deep but has a high level of generalization), and using the real or non contrived setting.
