Two Spirits Documentary This documentary film titled Two Spirits was directed and co-produced by Lydia Nibley. Two Spirits intertwines a tragic narrative of a mothers loss of her son and it offers some sort of enlightens us of a for the most part an unknown account of a time when the world wasnt just divided into male and female as well as countless Native American civilizations held places of honor for individuals that gender differentiations. Lastly, in the Navajo teaching, in old traditional culture Navajo there are four basic genders, such as, woman (are the first gender, because Navajo is a matrilineal society), men (are the second gender, ndleeh ( is born as a man but functions as a girl in early childhood and functions as a woman in adulthood), and the opposite for the a female that was born in the body of woman ( but primarily functioned as a man in early childhood and matured into a man in adulthood conducted their life in that gender identity). Homosexuality is not accepted by God; however he does love the homosexual person. As Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 6 Do you not know that sinful men will have no place in the holy nation of God? Do not be fooled. A person who does sex sins, or who worships false gods, or who is not faithful in marriage, or men who act like women, or people who do sex sins with their own sex, will have no place in the holy nation of God; Also those who steal, or those who always want to get more of everything, or who get drunk, or who say bad things about others, or take things that are not theirs, will have no place in the holy nation of God; and Some of you were like that. But now your sins are washed away. You were set apart for God-like living to do His work. You were made right with God through our Lord Jesus Christ by the Spirit of our God ( I Corinthians 6: 9-11, NLV 1969) Sometimes, gender is so neatly defined in the body of one person; its as if they have two spirits. In the Western- European culture we have the tendency of believing that gender is neatly defined, as male and female, such as is the case of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

Conversely, countless multicultural environments do not have a clearly divided gender differentiation, this does not exclude Native Americans, there tends to be certain movement back and forth between genders, and related to both the way people present and how they interact with each other sexually. We can typically acknowledge that are female and males, in spite of this everyone tends to have different qualities or identities. In Western culture when baby is born a girl, we usually know its a woman and if the baby is born a boy, we automatically say they are men; but we do not pause to think differently say that boy is a female. In multigendered world, and overcoming the conceptualization of this homosexual, straight heterosexual and binary dichotomy has been made up. Lastly, there are societies where people tend role play at festivals and the dress up like their counterpart, for example woman dress up like men and men dress like woman. In our society people like Fred would be considered a transgender, in contrast to this there are hermaphrodites but these are different from all other Navajo traditions. Furthermore, in the end of the summer of 1989, the concept of two sprits was coined at a two spirit gathering. Since at that time, former Native Americans that identified themselves as being (gays and lesbians) wanted a closer connection their tribal community. A Native Americans conceptualization of the term two spirits, refers to the fact that they word gay is not accepted in the over two hundred dialects they speak; but they say Two spirit in English its something that people can wrap their head around and understand and respect this person. They began share culture, festivals and much more annually. Thus far, in Freds family were a Navajo Indians, and his traditional Navajo culture there were four basic gender divisions that are: woman (are the first gender, because Navajo is a matrilineal society), men (are the second gender), ndleeh (is born as a man but functions as a girl in early childhood and functions as a woman in adulthood), and the opposite for the a

female that was born in the body of woman ( but primarily functioned as a man in early childhood and matured into a man in adulthood conducted their life in that gender identity). Insofar, referring back to the Navajo old traditional cultural background Fred Martinez was considered a ndleeh, a male-bodied person with a feminine nature, a special gift according to his ancient Navajo culture. He was a young black Native American that was raised in the country in addition to this he was poor. Who also had dreams like many others to progress in their lives? He was also one of the youngest hate-crime victims in modern day chronology when he was brutally murdered at the age of sixteen. Therefore, Two Spirits delves into the life and death of this boy who was also a girl and the in essence a pious nature of a sexual category. Two Spirits narrates a gripping account concerning traditions that were once well-known in the midst Native Americans. This documentary delves into the modern-day lives of Native Americans, specifically the Navajo culture, that had a four different gender divisions as well as the history of two-spirit people Native Americans, specifically a ndleeh who unite the individuality of both men and women with traits that are also exceptional to folks who convey multiple genders. Conversely, a Navajo Indian deems that to preserve accord, there must be a unbiased communion among the feminine as well as the masculine personality traits found within the person that is regarded and respected as a ndleeh, in families, in the culture, in addition to in the natural world. Two Spirits describes how these values are expressed in a normal range of gender diversity. This is the first time a documentary delves into the Navajo perception of ndleeh, one who constantly transforms. God created us men and women (Genesis 1: 27, NLV 1969)

Whilst, in spite of this fact that the Navajo culture, has four genders; but a few other aboriginal societies have even more gender divisions. At the turn of the twenty first century, many Native American advocates want to integrate within the nomenclature of their cultural legacy embraced the English term two-spirit as practical shorthand to illustrate a broad spectrum of gender as well as sexual terms that is better and more wholly explained in their own dialects. This documentary describes how their term two-spirits is a invigorating custom as well as the respect which all the ndleeh are claiming their rightful place within their tribal village. In sum, the Two Spirits documentary bewails the young Fred Martinez as well as endangers the two-spirit custom, however it also looks at this dilemma from an optimistic point of view the conviction that we all are enhanced with multi-gendered people, also that all of us; despite of traditions, sexual category, sexuality, or cultural legacies as well as the advantage benefit from being free to be our truest selves. The only way we can be free to our truest selves, knows Jesus, as the beloved disciple John wrote in John 8 So if the Son makes you free, you will be free for sure (John 8:36, NLV 1969). Lastly in all Native American cultures the witchdoctor is the one that consumes hallucinogens to communicate with the gods, and bring this message to the whole village. This person was the common person that Fred could visit to receive a message from the gods related to him being a ndleeh.
