Seymourpowell designs award winning machine for Coffee Nation


London, UK, 27 October 2010 leading global design and innovation company Seymourpowell is pleased to announce it has designed the new Express machine for Coffee Nation, the UKs fastest growing coffee company and leader in gourmet self-service coffee. Furthermore, the new machine recently won Best Self-Service Project at this years prestigious European Association for Self-Service (EAFS) Awards 2010 in Essen, Germany. Coffee Nation Express is the fourth machine designed by Seymourpowell for Coffee Nation. This model is a chip and pin, self-service gourmet coffee bar that has been developed to provide any high-footfall environment such as hospitals, universities and corporate offices, with a branded coffee offer. This represents a major expansion in reach for Coffee Nation as previously its machines appeared largely in locations continually staffed such as motorway service stations and selected supermarkets. Built on the robust and proven Coffee Nation platform, the new Express machine has been enhanced to include an intuitive touch screen for menu selection and has a chip & pin payment device that for the first time accommodates all major debit and credit cards as well as notes and coins. The Express also includes more surface area for the purposes of branded marketing material. Further design features of the new Express machine include the use of more robust materials, as well as improvements allowing better cleaning and access. In addition, the design allows for easier re-stocking, including larger capacity for all additional consumables. The European Association for Self-Service Awards recognises excellence and innovation in self-service projects for various sectors. The applications were judged by a jury that is made up of industry professionals using criteria based on effectiveness, innovation, design and impact on the selfservice market.
