you see?

Observational Report Name of School Observed: Daraga National High School Location of School: Daraga,Albay Date of Visit/Observation: July 23,2012 As I entered DNHS.I noticed some of the bulletin boards, which the intention to informed, to entertained and give direction to the students. The board display can easily be found because they were located on those places were the students pass by and buy their snacks. And I can say that those bulletin boards are creative and colorful. It was made from colorful art works and different re used materials. And since it was nutrition month celebration. All most all are about nutrition month. They are ok and good and the weaknesses of it are some of the information is too small, thats why its hard from the students to read the information. And it made damage easily since the displays are made from papers which can be easily damage by rain.

It is better if the information are printed in big sizes so that anyone can read. It is better if the information is open to the parents so that they are informed. The bulletin boards are an eye catching, colorful, informative, entertaining and help students. There should be a covering or outer cover for the bulletin board to protect its content. The bulletin board should display students activities or anything that involves the learners. IV- Analysis
1. Did the board display design reflect the likes/interests of its target audience? Why? Why not? Yes, because some of the bulletin board Ive seen were about nutrition month Celebration. Activities as well as the interest of the students. Those information is about the school like different competition. And several activities and programs that would help students to enhance their skills, ability as well as their self confidence.

2 .Was the language used clear and simple for the target audience to understand? Why? Why not? Yes. They are brief but precise. The information is well research and has liable source and those persons who checked the information are expert in the field of those information. 2. What do you think was the purpose of the board display? Was it effective? Why? Why not?

The main purpose of bulletin board is to inform students. It was very effective for me as a future teacher and as a student. They encourage students to participate ant to become an active one. And the students are aware what is happening in their school.

3. What suggestions can you make?

One of the most important objective o bulletin boards is to inform students. Sometimes it serves as a guide, idea and great help with the students. So I suggest that the information was being post in bulletin boards are fact based, informative, entertaining and well suit the interest of the students. It serves also as information to those parents who are visiting in the school of their sibling. VBased on your suggestions, propose an enhanced version of the display board. Use the form below.

Theme: MARH TRICKS + MATH GAMES = MATH FUN

Board Title: MATHEMATICS BULLETIN BOARD Rationale: To help students specially those students who are encountering mathopobia. To face their fears in math. To love math and understand what math really is. At the same time they are going to participate and appreciate math. Objectives: To help, informed and give entertainment to the students. To understand to them what really math is. That math is an interesting, amazing and nice subject. Best features of my proposed bulletin enhancement: The insights, quotes, games, trick that would help truly students to love math. Fun games and information that would truly help students. But of course the artistic decorations as well as designs. Content Resources:

VI- Reflections
1. Name at least five (5) skills that a teacher should have to be able to come up with an effective board displays. Elaborate on why each skill is needed. The skills that a teacher needs to create an effective board display could include: 1. Creativity Attractive that encourage students to read. 2.Flexible-knows how to handle and an open minded person. 3.Linguistic Skills-using or correct usage of grammar and spelling which encourage students to read. 4. Resourcefulusing re use materials. Being practical but has an artistic mind. 5. Compassionate and approachable-easy to communicate and to ask regarding the information. 2. Which of the skills do you already have? Recall your past experiences in making board displays. How do you practice these skills?

Creative and being resourceful. I remember when I am in grade 5 our teacher always assigns us to make the bulletin board of our school. So it was always been a challenge for us to make it beautiful and at the same time informative. I love to do things which make me busy specially those artwork. I love also to do design and recycle things. I felt the accomplishment since I made it nice and presentable. 3. Which skill do you need to develop? Reflect on how you can improve on or acquire these skills?

Linguistic Skill .I admit that I had difficulties in constructing a grammatically correct sentence as well as paragraph. But always I do my best to overcome my weaknesses and

improve myself. When I had extra time I reads books and if I encounter new words I look it on the dictionaries and well as the meaning and correct pronunciations. I ask also some person who is expert in this field.

The classroom that Ive observed is II-Mango with the teacher Mrs. Diana Benasa. She as a math teacher. As we all know that in math subject mist of the strategies used by the teacher is the talk and chalk method. There are also teachers are using manila papers ,flash cards, instruments like compass, and rulers. think the school are capable of those materials used by the students but since it was a math subject only few and the teachers will think what appropriate materials to be used in discussing the given topic. most of the activities are board work which consist solutions.

II- Analysis
Give at least three benefits of doing a survey of available materials before making your own materials? Explain each. SPONTANEOUS DISCUSSION - So that it has continuity of the discussion. It is important in doing a survey related to the materials which is being to be used it easy from the teachers to conduct activities, experiment and experience that would help the students in further understanding of the curriculums. LESS EXPENSIVE - Being a teacher has not given enough money to provide those materials that is being used by the students. It is also a great help with the teacher and student to have better understanding about the subject specially those far places or urban place. MOTIVATION FROM THE STUDENTS - As we all know that the best learning is through experiences with reflection and analyzation. The students are motivated to participate and have an active discussion. Availability of the materials has very important. It is also one of the factors that influence and help students to further there learnings. Not only in learning but also through learning by their own selves.

III-Reflections
1. Which of the materials did you like making the most? Why? THE TRIANGLES.I found myself happy doing the materials. I learn also ideas and in facts about triangles. How it prove theorems and concepts in math. For example triangle can demonstrate how formulas was being made, the convex and non convex, the kinds of the triangle which is the scalene, equilateral and isosceles. It was a great help to the teachers in discussing the subject. I, sure the students will understand the nature of the discussion. 2. What difficulties, if any, did you encounter in making the materials? How did you overcome them?

Thinking what appropriate material to do. First we identify what is the subject about. Then decide what appropriate material to be used. Since it was about high school student I decide to do some basic materials that would help students. Deciding what material to be is difficult and also thinking the applications and benefits in presenting the material. 3. What tips can you give teachers regarding preparation of teaching materials? Always think what appropriate materials to be used. After all teachers is the best teaching aids. The teacher has the power to make the discussion effective. Appropriateness of the materiel has greatest advantage. Plan first what is going to do, the materials and the contingency plan. The importance of it that the teacher is always readies what is going to discuss. Technology changes the way teachers teach, offering educators effective ways to reach different types of learners and assess student understanding through multiple means. It also enhances the relationship between teacher and student. When technology is effectively integrated into subject areas, teachers grow into roles of adviser, content expert, and coach. Technology helps make teaching and learning more meaningful and fun. Effective tech integration must happen across the curriculum in ways that research shows deepen and enhance the learning process. In particular, it must support four key components of learning: active engagement, participation in groups, frequent interaction and feedback, and connection to real-world experts. Effective technology integration is achieved when the use of technology is routine and transparent and when technology supports curricular goals. As times goes b we are to open in technology thas why help as a lot in delivering the curriculum.
