Conclusions
1. The North High School Boundary has sufficient students to fill North 2. The Northwest parents are inclined to send their kids to a quality Northwest school 3. The feeder schools can fill North to capacity 4. If STRIVE is co-located at North, there is a significant risk of a capacity shortage at North.

Events of the last 30 Days, Continued

Choose North NOW (CNN) conclusions: 1. The DPS Administration will go forward with the Default co-location of STRIVE High School at North for the 2013 school year. The BoE vote is a formality. 2. NHS and STRIVE High School will likely share a boundary. If NHS has no more capacity, then in-boundary students will be assigned to STRIVE High School, and vice-versa. 3. CNN will continue to oppose any co-location that displaces existing schools or takes much-needed capacity for future growth (e.g. Smedley needed as an elementary school). 4. CNN will continue to support North High School and is in this for the long haul.

Why Not Remington for STRIVE High School?

1. Per the default solution from the BoE resolution, STRIVE will re locate their Highlands middle school from North to Remington 2. Keeping Strive Highlands at North will be less disruptive to the MS students and to North and doesn't change the Strive Highlands enrollment boundary 3. Less impact on the future of TreVista (not another middle school in the TreVista boundary .7 mi away) 4. Remington (379 seats) is the same size as 1913 wing (350 +renovations). Strive High will need modifications at both locations if their High School target remains 500; though 400 is a better fit for both locations. 5. Remington has a large site at 7 acres 6. Assuming STRIVE High School is a charter with no boundary, DPS is not obligated to provide transportation. (meaning lost)Strive Highlands and Lake remain closer to the larger source of students in the south. DPS High schools have a larger pull area. 7. Strive Highlands remains at North, fully utilizing the building 8. Co-location Strive Highlands/NHS has been minimally disruptive for each school
