Open letter to Chris Matthews I would like to respond to your suggestion that Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan,

if elected, would run the country according to a religious theory -- likening their pro-life stance to "Shariah." Actually, Chris, it is the pro-abortion side that is promoting something similar to Shariah law as they stand ready to force their religious dogmas on everyone, even those firmly opposed to following their religion. They stand ready to not only behead anyone whom they consider to have dishonored their family or, in the abortion comparison, rip off limbs and tear the flesh piece by piece showing no mercy in their haste to dispose of the undesirables in an almost religious ritual, thinking in their tortuous act they have somehow furthered a righteous cause and rescued a woman from some burden too heavy to bear. Those who hold to abortion-on-demand are the ones pushing their religious fervor of sacrificing innocent humans on the altar of materialism and evading any financial or other inconvenience from their unplanned situation. They then force their dogma on the taxpayers, many of whom are absolutely appalled at the thought of their hard-earned money being taken from them to be used on the slaughter of voiceless human babies. Many of the individuals who will be forced to pay for abortions in the Obamacare mandates are individuals who have lost babies through miscarriage, desperately longing to hold and care for that loved one that died so young, leaving an empty womb and aching heart. Others have had abortions they have since regretted and are being forced to propagate and fund that same mistake over and over. Many others are unable to bear children and would love to adopt one of the precious babies who are indeed wanted, just not by the one who carries this individual in her womb. Many citizens cry themselves to sleep at night having aching arms for a child to love and raise as their own with none available to them because women are destroying them after being told they can get rid of the problem through a simple procedure as if the baby is something to be removed and discarded as a rotten tooth or cancerous growth. The majority of the citizens in this country are sickened by the thought of innocent babies being ripped from the womb. Many turn away, not

wanting to even think about what is going on around us. Some speak out and try to reason with the unreasonable about the vulgarity of murdering the most delicate among us. Few are hard-hearted enough to make fun of those who desire to protect every citizen from conception to natural death. Reasoning individuals know that life begins at conception and human life is protected by rule of law in our just and civilized society. Those who uphold laws of every kind in our moral society do so because any moral and just civilization has laws to govern its people. The inalienable rights and privileges granted to us by our Creator and clarified for each citizen in the US Constitution and the Bills of Rights is not a religious ideology being thrust down the throats of our citizens. There are those who do not believe in anything but satisfying their own desires and demanding their own rights while ignoring the responsibility that comes with being a human surrounded by other humans who also have inalienable rights. These are the pro-abortion proponents. No one would use the rhetoric of believing stealing was wrong, but not wanting to impose a personal belief on others in supporting legislation to make stealing illegal. How about those who think others should be put to death for being raped? Shariah again. It is absurd to kill the victim of a violent act while allowing the perpetrator to go free. It is equally absurd to kill an innocent baby in the name of choice. These babies are humans. They are citizens in the most delicate stage of life. They of all people need the rule of law to protect them when their own mothers, in the desperate state they find themselves, grasp at any hope of undoing what has been done. You cannot undo a life. You must kill it. Murder is wrong. Shariah? Really? On which side? Sincerely, Linda D. Marks
