National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), an apex organization for Educational Research, Teacher Training and Development of Curriculum and Instructional material in school education, invites applications for various academic positions for its constituent units all over India. Essential Qualifications and Pay scales: PROFESSOR (Existing Scale of pay : Rs.37400-67000 with AGP-10,000) A. (i) An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers. A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college, and/or experience in research at the University/National level Institution/industries, including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology mediated teaching learning process. A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicators (APIs) based on Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), Two years of field work comprising teaching at the school level. OR An outstanding professional, with established reputation in the relevant field, who has made significant contributions to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/ relevant discipline, to be substantiated by credentials.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (Existing Scale of pay : Rs. 37400-67000 with AGP-9000) i. Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines. ii. A Masters Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed). iii. A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/Industry excluding the period of Ph.D. research with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy papers. iv. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students. v. A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicators (APIs) based on Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS). vi. Two years of field work comprising teaching at the school level. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (Existing Scale of pay Rs. 15600-39100 with AGP-6000) i. Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Masters Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. ii. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET. iii. Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii) to this Clause, candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the U.G.C. (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent position in Universities/Colleges/ Institutions. iv NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET in not conducted.

v. Two years of field work comprising teaching at the school level. LIBRARIAN (Pay Band Rs. 37,400 67,000 with AGP Rs. 10,000) i. A Masters Degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade B in the UGC seven points scale and consistently good academic record set out in the UGC Regulations. ii. At least Thirteen years as a Deputy Librarian in a university library or Eighteen years experience as a College Librarian. iii. Evidence of innovative library service and organization of published work. Desirable: M.Phil/Ph.D. Degree in library science/information science/ documentation/ archives and manuscript-keeping. Headmistress/Headmaster (Existing Scale of Pay : Rs.15,600 Rs. 39,100 with GP Rs. 7,600) (PB-III) (On Deputation Basis) i. Masters Degree from recognized University with atleast 50% marks in aggregate. ii. B.Ed. or equivalent teaching degree. iii. Age limit Minimum 35 years and maximum 50 years. Age relaxation for SC/STs and other categories as applicable under the Govt. of India Rules would be applicable. No upper age limit for Council employee. Desirable: Knowledge of Computer Application. Experience: i. Persons holding analogous post; or posts of Principals in the grade of Rs.15,600 Rs. 39,100 with GP Rs.7,600 (PB III) for atleast 2 years; or ii. Vice Principals in the pay scale of Rs.15,600 Rs. 39,100 with GP Rs.5,400 (PB III) with 05 year service in the grade; or iii. Persons holding the posts of PGTs in the pay scale of Rs.9,300 Rs.34,800 with GP Rs.4,800 (PB II) or equivalent with atleast 08 years regular service in the aforesaid grade. Post Graduate Teacher (P.G.T.) (Existing Scale of Pay : Rs.9,300 Rs.34,800 with GP Rs.4,800)(PB-II) 1. Two years integrated Post Graduate M.Sc. Course of Regional Institute of Essential : Education of NCERT in the concerned subject; OR Masters Degree from a recognized University with at least 50% marks in the following subjects: PGT(English)- English PGT(Maths)- Mathematics/Applied Mathematics PGT(Chemistry)- Chemistry/Bio.Chemistry PGT(Pol.Science)- Pol.Science PGT(Geography)- Geography PGT(Commerce)- Commerce with Accountancy/cost Accounting/Financial Accountancy as a major subject of study. Holder of Degrees of M.Com in Applied/Business Economics shall not be eligible. 2. Proficiency in teaching in Hindi and English. Knowledge of Computer Application. Desirable: Note : For subsequent promotion the incumbent will have to acquire B.Ed. or equivalent degree from recognized university. Age limit 40 years. Age relaxation for SC/ST and other categories as applicable under the Govt. of India rules would be applicable. No upper age limit for Council employee. Post Graduate Teacher (Computer Science) (Existing Scale of Pay : Rs.9,300 Rs.34,800 with GP Rs.4,800)(PB-II) At-least 50% marks in aggregate in any of the following: Essential : 1. B.E. or B.Tech(Computer Science/IT) from a recognized University equivalent Degree or Diploma from an institution/ recognized university. Or B.E. or B.Tech (any stream) and Post Graduate Diploma in Computers from recognized University Or M.Sc.(Computer Science)/MCA or Equivalent from recognized University Or B.Sc.(Computer Science)/BCA or Equivalent and Post Graduate Degree in any subject from a recognized university Or Post Graduate Diploma in Computer and Post Graduate degree in any subject from a recognized university

Or A Level from DOEACC and Post Graduate degree in any subject Or B or C Level from DOEACC Ministry of Information and Communication Technology 2. Proficiency in teaching in Hindi and English. Note : For subsequent promotion the incumbent will have to acquire B.Ed. or equivalent degree from recognized university. Age limit 40 years. Age relaxation for SC/ST and other categories as applicable under the Govt. of India rules would be applicable. No upper age limit for Council employee. Nursery School Teacher (Existing Scale of Pay : Rs.9,300 - Rs.34,800 with GP Rs.4,200) (PB-II) i) Senior Secondary School Certificate or equivalent ii) Diploma/Certificate in Nursery teacher education programme of a duration of not less than two years or B.Ed.(Nursery) Desirable: Knowledge of Hindi; and Experience as Nursery Teacher Age limit: 30 years relaxable upto five years in the case of Councils employees General Conditions: 1. Age, qualifications and pay scales of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Headmaster and P.G.T. will be as per the NCERT/UGC/KVS/ Govt. of India norms. 10.
