LIVE WRIGHT NEWS

Approved But Not Funded

Well, we wish we had better news about our latest grant application: CDC CTG Small Communities Program. We recently received a letter stating that our grant was approved but not funded. It is an honor to know that health officials on the federal level believed in our ability to perform such vital work. On behalf of Wright County Public Health, thank you for helping us in completing our grant application. The commitment letters and letters of support sent a strong message to the CDC and illustrated the true community effort of Live Wright. Unfortunately, in the eyes of the funders our health disparities or at-risk/high-risk populations simply do not compare to the need of other qualified applications from across the state and the country. So, what do we do? We ask for your help in better defining the need of our communities, because we all know the problem of obesity, physical inactivity and unhealthy eating hasnt been solved yet in Wright County. Thankfully, our work on school nutrition continues without the need of this funding. Our efforts have been successful so far, look for updates soon!
