Behavioral objectives : By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:I. Identify the various food in Malaysia. II. Make at least 5 simple sentences. CCTS : Classify the food based on race and ethnic. Previous knowledge : Based on the previous lesson, students have leaned about races and types of food in year 3. Set Induction 5 minutes

1. Pupils are shown a picture of a food court.( Appendix 1 ) 2. Pupils list all food that are known to them.

Questions: 1. What is this place? 2. What kind of food can you find here?

Step 1 Presentation 10 minutes

1. Pupils look at the text and the picture. ( Appendix 2 ) 2. Pupils name the food. 3. Pupils read the text silently. 4. Pupils answer teachers questions.

Questions: 1. What are the major races in Malaysia? 2. What is the main diet for Malay food? 3. What is the ingredients usually used in Chinese food? 4. Does nasi beriyani Indian food or not? Pupils uses the skill of scanning.

Step 2 Practice 15 minutes

1. Pupils listen carefully as teacher read. 2. Pupils read the text individually. 3. Pupils answer the comprehension questions.

Step 3 Production 20 minutes

1. In groups pupils are given tasks: a. Group 1:List food associated with the three main races in Malaysia. b. Group 2: List the differences between Chinese food and Malay food.
