What is the Intelligent Practice service?

An online practice service, modelled on exam questions, which allows learners to practise the types of questions they may find in their tests and exams. This practice service is well integrated with the Siyavula textbooks and these resources work together to ensure learners excel in Mathematics and Physical Sciences. Learners are able to practise using their mobile phones or computers.

How does Intelligent Practice help me to excel in Maths and Science?

A multitude of questions ranging from basic exercises to exam preparation. Questions cover the entire curriculum for grade 10, 11 and 12 Mathematics and Physical Sciences. You are able to practise at a grade level (Grade 10 Maths), chapter level (Algebraic expressions) or even a sub-chapter level (Factorisation). Intelligent Practice supports more than just multiple choice questions, multi-step questions with algebraic expressions, numerical answers and chemical equations feature prominently. Intelligent Practice allows learners to fill out answers, rather than choose from multiple choice options.

When you are happy with your answer you can check it. Intelligent Practice marks itself so that you can immediately see where you may have gone wrong. The fully worked solution and all necessary steps are shown to you. You are then given the option to try another question like this one or move on to another question. All questions are generated from sophisticated templates ensuring that practise is never-ending.

The Student Dashboard

Your progress is monitored. Progress is measured by how often you practice and how well you are doing in the chapters. Easily see where your weaknesses in the curriculum lie and work hard to overcome them. Stay motivated as you see your progress. Use your dashboard to set yourself goals and achieve them. Share your dashboard with your parents and educators.

The Teacher's Dashboard

The Teacher Dashboard is an overview tool at either class or individual level. It is designed to give the educator a wealth of information about their class' progress at a glance, with the functionality to look in-depth at the progress of each individual learner. This allows the teacher to be more strategic in their teaching. Accessible online, 24/7 for all classes allocated to the educator. Using Intelligent Practice, the educator can observe, at a glance: Which learners completed their homework/exercises. How many questions were answered by each learner in order to achieve the set goals. Which topics did the class struggle with the most and which they have mastered. This service provides the educator with questions in sections where the learners have struggled the most.

The Dashboard will filter for any time period selected: 1 hour to monitor the previous class' computer lab exercise 24 hours to view last nights homework 1 week for an overview of the previous topic covered 3 months as preparation for a parent meeting

Individual learner progress: How much work has the learner put in, what his/her success rate is as well as, weaknesses and strengths.
