The abstract should be short, but give overall ideas about what was done, what was found and what are the main conclusions. The abstract is to be in fullyjustified italicized text, at the top of the left-hand column as it is here, below the author information. Use the word Abstract as the title, in 12-point Times, boldface type, centered relative to the column, initially capitalized. All manuscripts must be in English.

This section is where youll be describing the experimental set-up that has been performed during the lab session. Your must write all steps (of course with appropriate tense and sentence structure) such that somebody wholl be reading your lab report should be able to do your experiment again. Thus, youre expected to be specific and provide all necessary details. You must write your procedures in paragraph and sentences in terms of bullet points are STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED. In addition to that, youre also expected to thoroughly describe any techniques or tools which you used to obtain your results.

Subtopic In this section, you are advised to put your data in terms of figure such as shown in Fig.1 below.

1. Introduction
The main purpose of giving you the task to write your lab report in style of IEEE format generally is to provide you with some basic knowledge on how research articles are written. Since youll be doing your Final Year Project (PSM) in the coming semester, by having this knowledge might significantly help you to prepare yourselves on what youll be facing in the next semester. As you can see in this guideline, youll be writing your lab report using the IEEE paper format. The maximum number of pages is six (6) and youre not allowed to write more than that. But, there is no minimum number of pages for you to write. In the introduction section, youll be explaining what your understandings behind the lab procedures are. Youre also expected to briefly introduce your lab topic and emphasize why it is important. In addition to that, you should also relate your lab activities with the current knowledge/courses that youve learned previously. Also, in this section youll be introducing what are your work as well as providing the purpose and main objective of why the experiment was conducted.

Youre also expected to discuss your findings and understanding on whatever figures you put in this report. Besides that, you should also combine graphs and plot (if necessary) in order to make them more presentable and understandable. Please do not put any figure without explanation and discussion. Please also pay attention on how figures should be labeled. If you have some other numerical data/results such as percentage overshoot, settling time etc that you believed giving significant impact to your experiment, please arrange them properly in terms of table. Example on how

2. Methodology

to put your data in table is shown below. Notice that the label is put on top of the table instead of at the bottom.
No. 1. 2. 3. 4. Table 1. Example of putting table Rules If ( e is NM) and ( e is ZE) then (u is PM)

If ( e is NS) and ( e is ZE) then (u is PS) If ( e is NS) and ( e is PS) then (u is ZE) If ( e is ZE) and ( e is NM) then (u is PM)

Again, please make sure to provide explanation and discussion regarding your tables. Please do not put them simply JUST FOR DISPLAY

4. Conclusions
Writing a good conclusion is normally a huge road block for students. In order to write a good conclusion, you must relate back to the objectives that you have written previously in the introduction section. Besides that, you can give an overall summary of what you have done in your experiments. It is always good to explain any discrepancies or establish newness that was discovered in the experiment. As to support your work, you can also provide suggestion for further improvement of the conducted experiment. For any other information on how to write a good research articles, you can find them abundantly in the internet. There is an article about Rules of Thumb for Writing has been uploaded in my website which you can use as guideline. Lastly, be creative in writing your report and put extra effort to complete them.

5. References
List and number all bibliographical references in 9point Times, single-spaced, at the end of your paper. When referenced in the text, enclose the citation number in square brackets, for example [1]. Where appropriate, include the name(s) of editors of referenced books. (You dont have to put this paragraph in your reference section) [1] A.B. Smith, C.D. Jones, and E.F. Roberts, Article Title, Journal, Publisher, Location, Date, pp. 1-10. [2] Jones, C.D., A.B. Smith, and E.F. Roberts, Book Title, Publisher, Location, Date.
