Rules for 4th Semester projects

Research The research project involves:

Identifying the future research topic suitable for the society or research group. Devising an approach & method to prove research Converting the research study to either a journal or a conference paper latest before mid-sem exams or the date so collectively decided by the supervisor. In case of paper communicated to Tier I or II conference the institution would support as per the institute policy in terms of registration and travel cost. In case of any other type of conference no support would be given by the institute of any kind and it is the sole responsibility and choice of the student to go for it. If the paper is communicated to an international / National conference then it needs to be published. If the paper is communicated to an international / National journal then it should be published and the criteria of marking is as given below The category of paid journal to be assessed on the basis of its impact factor, H factor, SJF factor etc. The age and sponsorship of the conference will decide its weightage.

The marking scheme to be followed for research projects is as follows: Total marks= 250

Viva- 125 marks

Internal guide = 25 mks.

Utility Project (This type involves towards government funding or customized utility software development for the institute or society) Need analysis to be done for the utility of the application of the institute, division or society. Working software to be developed and deployed. The marking scheme to be followed for research projects is as follows: Total marks= 250

Viva- 125 marks

Internal guide = 25 mks.

100 marks for utility project developed

If utility /application being functional & working = 80

If utility /application is functional & working and filing copyright or

Incubation Project

Choosing such a project would entail the fulfillment of the following requirements in the broad sense: Proposal or business Plan to be developed along with all financial, operational & marketing analysis. If the proposal is related to services then framework or model be developed and also be functional If the proposal is related to product then complete Prototype to be developed Acceptance of venture capitalist commercialization partner Total marks= 250

Viva- 125 marks

Internal guide = 25 mks.

100 marks for Incubation project

If prototype developed or proper business plan with all factors of costing operation etc. = 80

If prototype developed or proper business plan with all factors of costing operation along with getting agreement
