The ClearPath Next-Generation Server Architecture defines Unisys commitment to, and strategy for, developing new ClearPath platforms capable of meeting the demands of our largest customers both now and into the foreseeable future. A key element of this initiative is the integration of market-leading technology, such as the most current Intel processor technology, and an innovative, Unisys developed approach to hardware resource allocation known as secure partitioning (s-Par). The benefits of this approach are evident in a new, internally distributed architecture that provides building blocks for future growth via an enhanced version of Unisys s-Par technology. By advancing the capabilities of s-Par, Libra 6200 Series systems allow multiple, dedicated instances of our specialty engines, such as the ClearPath ePortal for MCP and ClearPath MCP JProcessor, to function as an integral element of the ClearPath MCP operating environment. This

and Enterprise Application Environment (EAE) for rapid application development. Conformance to industry software standards Secure environment for Java applications Built-in integration with mobile devices, Web browsers, and Web Services for the connected world Industry-standard tools, applications and skill sets

Operational benefits: Quickly Adapt to Changes in Demand (flexibility) Improved service level management Easier Capacity Planning

Financial benefits: Lower IT Capital Investment for the maximum system capacity Pay Only for What You Use Better Match of Revenues to Expenses Better management of capacity related Business Risk.

With architectural innovation and mainframe performance the ClearPath Libra 6200 Series systems are the most agile, powerful and secure MCP systems within the ClearPath Libra Next-Generation Server line released to date. In addition, Libra 6200 software licensing options include multiple business models to meet the diverse needs of MCP clients. The Libra 6280 system offers Traditional Business models which provide for software licensing based on a fixed performance level. Additional flexibility to quickly adapt to unforeseen business requirements is offered with Capacity on Demand options supporting temporary workload increases, emergency recovery (short term) and disaster recovery (long term). Capacity on Demand choices help to better manage changing capacity requirements. Designed to optimize the traditional performance ClearPath business model, Capacity on Demand options are available in one day granularity and deliver agility for managing dynamically changing workloads, including unpredictable spikes in demand and emergency/ disaster recovery situations. Different buying options help to achieve the most flexibility in server operations. Three Capacity-on-Demand options are available: 1. 2. 3. A Disaster Recovery option for long outages An Emergency Recovery option for shorter outages A Temporary Workload option which allows you to scale processing capacity up and down on a temporary basis Libra 6290 software is licensed on Pay-for-Use business models based on Unisys state-of-the-art metering technology. Metering technology combined with pay-foruse licensing allows the system to instantly tap into extra resources while being charged only for the resources used. The Libra 6290 continuously measures and records actual processing resources consumed by the system. Immediate benefits of the advanced Pay-for-Use business models include:

Specialty Engines
Included as a native element of Libra 6200 systems are two types of Specialty Engines, the ClearPath MCP JProcessor and ClearPath ePortal Business for MCP. Specialty Engines extend specific functions to the ClearPath Server by utilizing an integrated processing unit for the specific task. The result is an architecture that provides dedicated performance and enhanced functionality for the application. Each Specialty Engine incorporates integration software and connection technologies that make it a transparent extension of the ClearPath system. The ClearPath ePortal for MCP is a unique, secure, enterprise class solution used to extend MCP applications to Web browsers, mobile devices, and Web Services. It is an end to-end, integrated and highly automated solution for offering ClearPath applications to a new set of consumers. The ability to easily extend current ClearPath MCP- based applications provides increased functionality in an economic fashion. The solution set leverages industry skills and tools and is tightly integrated into the MCP architecture. ClearPath ePortal for MCP is a native element of Libra 6200 Series systems ready to go and positioned to add value to your business operations. The ClearPath MCP JProcessor provides a secure Java application environment. The ClearPath MCP JProcessor has expanded language support for a contemporary Java environment that includes the Java Standard Edition (SE) software and the optional JBoss Application Server. This Specialty Engine environment also supports the ClearPath Database Extensions for PHP software to enable Web applications written in the PHP scripting language to access Enterprise Database Server databases. It can also host the XML Parser for ClearPath MCP software that enables applications to create and process XML documents.

ClearPath MCP resource adapters provide standard connections from a Java application running practically on any server to DMS II and transaction processing applications, providing integration between existing ClearPath assets and external and internal Java applications. This rich suite of languages and middleware also establishes new open source solution opportunities.

The operating environment for ClearPath MCP servers includes all of the software needed to operate the system. The extensive ClearPath MCP middleware portfolio is based on industry standards. It offers powerful flexibility to securely integrate ClearPath MCP applications and data with practically any hardware or software technology, including popular smart phones and tablet computers. For additional peace of mind, you have the option of using your smart phone or tablet computer (selected models) to securely monitor the performance of your ClearPath Libra Server running the ClearPath MCP software from any place at anytime. Enterprise Database Server for ClearPath MCP, formerly known as DMSII, is a proven database management system that is highly scalable and reliable. It can be used by applications running in a variety of operating environments including ClearPath MCP, Microsoft Windows, UNIX, Java and Linux. Unisys and its partners offer a complete portfolio of software for ClearPath MCP servers that include software for these critical areas: Security Internet, Web and transaction processing Application development tools System management tools and utilities Performance monitoring Database, query and reporting tools Communications and networking

A Complete Operating Environment

The premier ClearPath MCP integrated software stack for ClearPath Libra Servers is in a class by itself. It is difficult to find another supplier with a software stack that can match the extremely high availability, impenetrable security, and overall reliability of the ClearPath MCP integrated software stack. High levels of availability are provided by innovative capabilities built into the ClearPath MCP software, by taking advantage of the advanced distributed architecture of the Libra 6200, and data replication technologies. From the beginning, the ClearPath MCP architecture was designed to be secure. As the threat of cyber-attacks has increased, Unisys has responded by adding additional layers of security to data privacy helping to reduce the risk of security breaches. The components of the ClearPath MCP integrated software stack are designed to work together for reliability and performance. The software is developed, tested, and integrated with ClearPath Libra 6200 Systems so they operate in an effective and optimized manner.
