YOWIE SEARCH IN THE WINGHAM. NSW DISTRICT.

by Rex Gilroy Copyright Rex Gilroy 2009. On Monday 10th August 2009 Heather and I drove to Wingham, which lies west of Taree, in the mid-north coastal mountain ranges. Here we stayed with Faye Burke, who with her cousin, Alana Garnett, had recently been in the news with their startling close encounter with a [male] Yowie one night as they drove past him on the scrub-lined roadside on Mt George. We had come to visit the site with Faye and Alana, who had also found a large footprint in sand nearby. The hominid they saw was, they said, 8ft [2.44m] in height, standing erect with its back to them on the roadside at the base of a 25ft [7.62m] embankment. Alana was on the passenger side as Faye drove up the hill. It was a half moonlit night, the date being Friday 31st July. Faye told us that their encounter occurred as they approached Connellys Creek Gap just on the other side of Mt George. We were about 200 metres from the top of the hill when I saw ahead in the headlights this big hairy animal thing on the side of the road. It was about 8ft tall and 4ft [1.22m] wide across the shoulders. Alana said that they both yelled out holy hell along with a list of other [unmentionable] words. We panicked, she said. Faye added that I couldnt turn the car around because I had the trailer* and the road was too narrow. I was s**t scared and thought I better not mess with this thing in case it lifts the trailer up and tips us over the bank edge. [*the trailer was empty at that time prior to being loaded up with pumpkins from Fayes brothers home]. Keeping her foot on the accelerator and speeding past the hominid [at this point Alan says she was within 3ft of the manbeast], Faye said to Alana, Did you see that?
2

Blue Mountains UFO Research Club Newsletter September 2009.

Do you mean that thing that looked like a Bigfoot? Alana replied. Faye said, No, it wasnt a Bigfoot, it was a Yowie at which Alana screamed back Same thing! They described the hominid to us as having dark brown hair which was all matted. The breeze from the passing car made the hair around its neck flick up as we drove past, said Alana. Faye and Alana returned the next day to look for any signs of the Yowie. A couple of hundred feet down the road from where they had passed the hominid, in sand on a roadside semi-clearing surrounded by scrub, and beneath the base of a steep hillside property, they found an indistinct large footprint showing the instep and five toes. On Tuesday, after spending the previous night discussing Faye and Alanas encounter, during which Faye kindly gave Heather and I exclusive right to the investigation of their encounter, enabling me to carry out a thorough scientific investigation, we headed off for Mt George. Since their close encounter of the hairy kind, some yokel had nailed a crude tin cut-out of a Yowie to a tree trunk opposite where they had seen the being. Later, further along the road, we came across cloth road signs declaring Yowie Country. Such antics only help to bring discredit on the whole Australian relict hominid subject. Happily these bits of nonsense all mysteriously disappeared! ***** Our investigation of the site commenced with photographing the exact spot of the encounter from every angle. It appeared to me that the hominid had emerged from a deep forested gully on the opposite side, then crossed the road to probably climb the hill, only to find the embankment at this spot impossible to negotiate. At this point Faye and Alanas vehicle would have been heard approaching and the manbeast, perhaps hoping to merge into the roadside darkness, had stood with his back to the approaching vehicle, but was of course seen. Once the vehicle had passed him, the hominid may have returned to the opposite side of the road and returned to the forested gully. If this was so, I wondered if perhaps a second, unseen hominid had been involved. The footprint may hold the answers to the mystery. It pointed in the direction of the opposite side of the road and the wooded gully beyond. I made a plaster cast of the footprint but at the same time realised that it was part of a trackway of other indistinct impressions in grass coming down from a small embankment above which was a property fenceline behind which rose the hill. We followed the trial until it led onto the opposite side of the fence. Here I left Faye and Alana to climb the hill, still following the large indistinct feet impressions in the grass. I also detected a faint musty smell in the area about the impressions as if the hominid had left behind a strong body odour which was by now almost faded away. I reached the summit, to see the tracks led off along the hilltop over a saddle to another rise of forest cover in the distance. This had obviously been the place from where the hominid had first emerged, to walk downhill to the roadside, before crossing over into the gully, this having happened on the same night that Faye and Alana had seen what appeared to me to have been a second manbeast. ***** While the cast was drying we carried out a search of the gully opposite where Faye and Alana had seen their Yowie. For a time we followed a forest track, then left this to explore through the dense scrub. Finding a small creek we searched for signs of other footprints but found none. Then as we fought our way up through some really dense shrubbery towards the road above, Faye and I came across two recently manufactured eoliths, or dawn tools of the kind manufactured by Homo erectus. However, these crude implements were not ancient, but comparatively recent, suggesting they had been manufactured within the last couple of years. The footprint cast itself was revealing. Although the toes were a little indistinct it was obviously a right foot impression, which I measured to be 40cm in length by 26cm width across the toes, 18.5cm across the mid-foot and 16cm wide across the heel. Its depth was 3.2cm at the toes, 2cm at mid-foot and 2.5cm at the heel. It appears to closely resemble other tracks cast by myself and Greg Foster, during our Carrai Range [Kempsey district] further north back in September 2008 and was by its shape made by the larger form of Homo erectus Yowie, known as Rexbeast. While at Wingham the Taree press [Manning River Times] did a story about our search, and NBN News also interviewed Faye and I, before Heather and I had to drive home on the Thursday. However, the indications are that there has to be a small group of these primitive Homo erectus survivors wandering the mountains hereabouts, perhaps even more than one group, as from other Yowie reports from the Dingo Tops region. Therefore the Gilroys are to make an ongoing field investigation of the Wingham forests. Who knows what we may turn up in the months and years ahead in these wilds? -0-

ANOTHER LOOK AT THE YOWIE.

by Rex Gilroy. Copyright Rex Gilroy 2009. In the light of the recent encounter with a hairy man [or were two involved?] outside Wingham NSW described in this issue of Temple of Nim, and a rather questionable Yowie sighting claim by people in a bus on the Pilliga Highway near Baradine, the author feels it necessary to present the following evidence in the interests of commonsense research into the Yowie mystery To begin with the yowie, or hairy man is no gorilla or other primate creature, thus the long-haired apish monster of the media cartoonists does not exist. Fossil evidence gathered by Heather and I, together with Greg Foster and Ann Taylor, on various grounds already explained in previous Temple of Nim issues and our books on the Yowie, clearly demonstrates that the Yowie is in reality living remnant groups of Homo erectus, our immediate ancestor, with the possible exception of a newlyidentified, primitive ape-man-like race represented by two fossil skull-types, which we shall examine anon. Overlooking the pygmy Homo erectus forms of Australia identified from our fossil skull-type collection, we come to the classical modern human-height Homo erectus, fossil evidence for which has been recovered by us over a wide area of the continent, dating from around 300,000 years BP to early Pleistocene times up to around 2 million years BP [Before Present]. Homo erectus was/is a fire-making, tool-making hominid, and recently-manufactured examples of his stone tools have been recovered [particularly here on the Blue Mountains] whose styles parallel those of Homo erectus of a million or more years ago, showing that this race, our immediate ancestor, has changed but little, at least in the case of those who remained isolated in remote mountainous country and did not evolve on to become modern humans. I have already demonstrated that, apart from the average modern human height Homo erectus/Yowie, there is a larger form identified by me as Rexbeast, due to marked differences in the structure of the feet impressions, based upon a study of the best cast materials. As I have repeated time and again, the word Yowie means Hairy Man, or Hairy People to the early Aborigines; not because they had hairy bodies, but because the made and wore crude cloaks of marsupial hide. In fact, were it not for their long, narrow skull-types [ie doliocephalic] and primitive facial structure, they otherwise resemble ourselves in physical build. Thus the hairy monster of certain misinformed would-be Yowie hunters is a figment of their imagination! There remains the recently identified outsider in this review. This race is identified from two skull-types, one from Christmas Creek, Central Queensland found by me in August 1993 and another, found in April 2007 outside Balranald, near the Murray River, south-western New South Wales. The two fossils are of, in the cast of the Christmas Creek fossil, a mineralised ironstone, partly mummified head and neck, as is the Balranald NSW skull, which is of limestone mineralisation. The jaws of the Christmas Creek skull are fused together, while those of the Balranald NSW specimen are partly open, the retracted mummified skin has revealed mineralised teeth. Both skulls were crushed flattish by heavy overlying sediments early in their burials and while both eye sockets are present in the Christmas Creek skull, those of the Balranald skull, due to crushing, have been pushed together to form a single hollow. The skulls possess the remains of thick brow ridges and their faces project forward. Their skulls were doliocephalic and the craniums flattish, meaning that the brain was behind the eyes. Reconstruction of the facial features presents an undoubted apish appearance and the neck vertebrae are partly exposed in the Christmas Creek specimen, presenting by their positioning, the appearance of a forward-projecting head, which is also the appearance of the Balranald skull-type. This feature suggests that both beings walked with a somewhat stooped appearance [?]. This, coupled with the primitiveness of the facial features tend to give these individuals a true ape-man appearance. They were not primates as first thought, for the exposed teeth of the Balranald NSW skull are definite hominid. What can therefore be said of these fossils is that they belonged to rather strong, muscular ape-like hominids who existed parallel with the Homo erectines. Their having been a possible offshoot of the proto Homo erectus line cannot be ruled out. The skull measurements. Christmas Creek, Qld 19.5cm tall from dome to base of lower jaw, length 30cm from brow ridges to rear of braincase, and 10cm wide. Had the skull escaped flattening it would have been at least 20cm wide. The hominid probably stood around 2.3 metres tall. Balranald, NSW 25cm tall, by 28cm long from brow ridge to rear of braincase and 12cm wide. Had the skull remained in its original shape it would have measured no less than 24cm wide. The skulls owner stood about 3 metres tall. Although it is doubtful that this obviously widely-distributed race was of the grossly hair-covered ape form of the media cartoonists and hoax Yowie eyewitnesses, its extreme primitiveness could make it a candidate for the apelike Yowie eyewitness claims. As the Christmas Creek skull was recovered among primitive stone tools of the Eolithic[ie dawn tools] type, it is certain that this primitive race knew a crude stone tool manufacture. Both skulls date at least several hundred thousand to one million years BP.

At present this race has been given the name Megapithicus gilroyii, a large, primitive, semi-hirsute, ape-like bipedal hominid living in Australia into present times, but which arose on this continent in the dawn mists of modern humanitys beginnings. -0-

PROPHESY OF THE BEINGS OF LIGHT.

from Australian UFOs Through the Window of Time. by Rex Gilroy Copyright Rex Gilroy 2004.
There is little doubt in my mind that the Uru, and also the Aboriginal tribes with which they shared the Blue Mountains, had more than one contact with advanced beings from a super-civilisation somewhere in our Universe.

The mystery ancient astronaut rock art in this district certainly suggests that. The style does not appear Aboriginal but Uruan.
Near Katoomba in recent years I have made a number of megalithic stone arrangement discoveries. One of these is a stone alignment erected on a north-south axis and 45m in length. The ironstone slabs used in the erection of this alignment extend along a ridge that, although now covered in trees and shrubbery, was once bare and offered a clear view of the heavens.

However, what makes this rather short stone alignment unique is the massive ironstone slab that once stood upright at the alignments centre, which is engraved on its south face with dozens of letterings, numerical symbols, human and other images, identified as a form of Uruan script used around 8000 to 4000 BP [Before Present]. If there were engravings on the north face these now lie buried. The stones situation and its great weight would make re-erection impossible. It measures 3.6m in length by 2.54m in width and is at least 40cm in thickness. It must weigh at least 4 tonnes. The often-faded glyphs took me almost a whole day to record on paper, chalk in and photograph. It has taken me 28 years to finally crack the translation of the Uru script, and although my research in this regard is far from complete, for the past several years I have been able to finally read the sometimes-lengthy rock inscriptions left by this people. The Katoomba stele has revealed yet further evidence of the remarkable astronomical knowledge of the Uru, knowledge of life on other worlds in space, and contacts by beings from beyond our Earth. The inscription, which appears divided into six sections, reads from the top down: Set 1. The planet Mohala 9 million people live there. It is the abode of 2 moons radiating for the god of millions. Set 2. Hail the beings of light of the planet Mohala, who with its two moons lies 300 time periods from our planet [Uru] within the great constellation of the serpent [Nim], from where tailed stars come. Temples stand upon its surface. Their flying craft have come from there to our world twice, from the abyss of space, where the people are great and live there in happiness, calculating the Suns movements over their land for reasons of its fertility. From this site the planets orbit has been measured to a distance of 300 time periods from us. Mohala and ours [Uru] are two worlds alike. From the abyss of space a Travelling tailed star will strike us in the first year of the Third Age. The Gods will come to show the way, to protect our planet. Praise Nim the Sun of millions, the Serpent of Light, praise him. From their world to ours, from the sky to our planet to embrace and save millions. The body approaching our planet from above will break and shatter the land and great numbers of people destroyed in both hemispheres. This will occur in the Third Age as recorded on this stone.

Set 3.

Set 4.

Set 5. Ga-na the god who holds our Sun in his hands, the light of millions, the Sun whose rays enclose the abyss of space, whose lightning he hurls into its abyss. This land is the abode of Ga-na. At this enclosure A-I* and the Earth Mother Nif mate to fertilise the Universe, so that millions on many worlds will survive together. The Suns rays of light travel from one planet to the other in the constellation of the Serpent, which envelopes the earth [Uru] fertilizing all. Praise the great land of the Sun-Serpent, Nim, protected always by Ga-na. Set 6. When the Serpent Sun mounts this stone the earth is renewed. King Wa-ga is the protector of this land, the land of the Suns rays, the abode of the Serpent who journeys across the land sleeps within his altar enclosed within the 14

Blue Mountains UFO Research Club Newsletter September 2009.

journeys to the Underworld I-na protects him. The great god Nim demands offerings in return for his rays of sunlight, with which he fertilizes, as does A-i whose radiating power enlightens Man. The tailed stars are Nims sign. The Suns rays from his eye cover the four seasons. Make serpent sacrifices to the Uru, behold the Sons of Light, of the two planets, Uru and Mohala! [*A-I, another spelling of Aea, the Supreme Being of the Uru] Let us now take a closer look at this lengthy inscription. Passing reference is made at the inscriptions beginning to the planet Mohala with its 9 million inhabitants and 2 moons. But where was the planet Mohala? The second set of inscriptions describes this planet. It resembles Earth and is situated 300 time periods away from our planet [which the Uruans called Uru their name also for Australia]. It lies with the great constellation of the serpent [the Milky Way]. It is from here that tailed stars come an obvious reference to comets and asteroids. The reference to temples standing on its surface could be interpreted as large buildings, dwellings etc, structures with which the Uru were unfamiliar. How could they have known this? Had visitors from Mohala already taken Uruans home to their planet and returned them here to pass on the many wonders they had seen? The inscription states that Mohalan spacecraft have come to Earth twice, and the reference to their calculating their Suns movements seems to be a reference to their astronomical activities. It is stated in the 3rd set that Mohala lies 300 time periods from Earth. The third set also states that a travelling tailed star, ie an asteroid, will strike the Earth in the first year of the Third Age. When was the Third Age, or is this event yet to happen? In any case the Gods will come to show the way, to protect our planet as the fourth set of inscriptions states. These are obviously the Mohalans, is it they who are depicted in the mysterious ancient astronaut rock art that is engraved upon cliffs at Katoomba? The prophesy of the Katoomba stele is the most startling discovery made by the author of the Uru on the Blue Mountains to date, if not elsewhere in Australia, or in New Zealand where Heather and I have found their rock script in great profusion. The Katoomba rock inscriptions and artworks demonstrate to us that the Uruan civilisation had been greatly influenced by the heavens from earliest times, and this led them to their erection of extensive megalithic structures, employed in their advanced astronomical studies. That at some stage visitors from beyond our Earth had landed and spent some considerable time here, time in which they greatly influenced the Uru, seems certain. The thought arises: if, as the Katoomba stele suggests, visitors from the planet Mohala have been here in the past, could they have returned since then and, are other intelligences continuing to do so today? *****
The rock art depicting strange mechanical devices, flying craft, wheeled vehicles and robotic type images and humanoid figures in strange garments at the Katoomba sites describes considerable activity going on hereabouts. A luna module-type airship is featured in one set of engravings, a small jet plane-type craft in another, even a much larger mother ship from which all the vehicular and other equipment may have come. It is all suggestive of a colony established hereabouts.

If this Earthbase One Blue Mountains colony was established in the Katoomba area, what was its purpose? Exploration in small aircraft would have been carried out, the collection of specimens of our flora and fauna on a grand scale seems likely. Had they been searching for precious metals they would have had to search elsewhere, such as to the west of the Blue Mountains. It therefore seems likely that this was a central base from which expeditions were dispatched to widely scattered areas. If this central base has not already been completely covered by modern housing, it may be possible to locate it eventually. It is also not impossible, even very likely that other bases were established in Australia, hence the concentration of rock art similar to that at Katoomba at various localities across the continent. Yet, according to the Katoomba stele, the planet Mohala lies 300 time periods from our Earth, a measurement yet to be worked out. If, as is suspected, the Mohalans, like other super-civilisations in the Universe are able to manipulate time and space, employing windows in time to visit Earth, or any other planet for that matter, then they could conceivably move from one time zone to another and back again the same way, thus visits to Earth might take months, weeks, days [or even minutes?] by our standards, rather than the many generations argued by space scientists. In modern times, as in the past, the Blue Mountains, particularly the Katoomba district, and the valleys to its west and south, namely the Megalong, Jamieson and Burragorang respectively, have been the scene of considerable UFO activity: particularly the south-western side of Katoomba, where for an area covering many kilometres in width and height extra-terrestrial craft have on many occasions been observed to appear from out of nowhere, disappearing in the same way. This great window in time seems the only explanation for a number of mysterious, even eerie encounters some people have claimed to have experienced with scenes from the past, and which we shall investigate later. And if there is such a Window in Time near Katoomba, and if these advanced beings are able to manipulate time and come and go as they wish, could they be operating a UFO Base right here on another time zone? It does no harm to speculate. It would appear that the mysterious planet Mohala has played a major role in Earth visitations in the past, as we are about to see, when we discover its true identity in the next Chapter. However, we have no way at present of knowing just how many other intelligent life forms have visited Earth or continue to do so. The Universe is made up of 20 galaxies, each containing billions and billions of stars and planets. How could Earth be the only planet capable of supporting life? Some scientists are convinced there may be some form of life on Mars, or even Europa, one 15

Blue Mountains UFO Research Club Newsletter September 2009.

of the moons of Jupiter. But would it be intelligent? I for one am convinced that intelligent life forms, even beings similar to ourselves, do exist somewhere out there, and that intelligent life once existed on Mars. We are definitely not alone and it seems certain that our Earth has been known of, and colonised in the past, by highly advanced beings from the farthest reaches of the Universe. -0-
