The IRRELEVANCE OF PHILOSOPHY OF LAW

By: Cyndy dela Cruz 1-D Who needs

philosophy of law when anyone can simply know the law and memorize it? No one

needs to UNDERSTAND the law! One just needs to KNOW the law, KNOW THAT IT EXISTS as simple as that! Critical thinking dulls me. I hate being around with people with just a lot to say. When will this world be at peace as I have imagined where people just dont give a damn? I live in the world of hopelessness where some are powerful and most are powerless. I belong to the powerless; therefore, I will remain seated as I am now, do nothing and watch the world crumple in injustice. You see, if we just let things be and left untouched, no one will bother to make such a big deal about almost anyth ng

life will be a whole lot easier for people who simply do not want to use their little mental faculty located ju eyebrows.

A course in philosophy of aw is a waste of time and energy. I was one of those who come to class just to let it pass. I would n

ver understand a few of my classmates whod bother to raise their hands, answer and be critical on matters

which, for normal people, are not worthy for a discourse.

Studying philosophy of law will not e profession. It will just suffice th will just drow

Philosophy of law has no practical value at

ll. Amartya Sen and John Rawls are just two people with nothing else left

to do but to think of worthless theories that do

not even sound plausible for a society like ours. Even present the

normative issues we face today, having an analytical skill by virtue of knowing the fundamentals of philosophy of law are

not even a starting point in rendering good ju

dgments when in practice. Who needs justice when in fact the world is a

big injustice? We just cant do anything about, so why waste our time thinking about eradicating it? Why would we intrude into the principles of something that is crafted by those who are the powerful elite?

Now that they ha

ve done their jobs, and present is the whole system of the law, all we need to do is take them in. Take

Why waste energy on something that does not need to be meddled about? If a problem arises out of our non-analysis, noncritical thinking, then we have the law and the society to blame and not ourselves. There are other things that we can do with our minds other than wasting its existence on rationality and critical thinking. Why not use a bulk of its capacity to spend the whole day thinking about how it might have been i

each of us has our own cloud and that it would be up to us whether

or not it would rain or otherwise? Useful thoughts

right? Non-critical, imaginative, but TRULY WORTHWHILE - mo

between the language of the law, applying it to every aspect of our lives and analyzing every provision in relation to another. We will complicate m

atters if we apply logic. From a crystal clear point of view, we will end up clouding ourselves with
l

a distorted view of the aw, hence, embarrassing ourselves into thinking that philosophy of law is the most useful thing that we have to learn when in pursuit of the legal education NO!!!!!! it will never be the most useful thing in fact, it will NEVER BE USEFU

L!

The abstractness of philosophy of law is never a beauty. Controversy brought about logical and critical thinking never entails love of knowledge. In fact, philosophy of law is not love of knowledge or the use of it, IT IS AN ABUSE TO ONES MENTAL PROCESS AND FACULTY, turning the once normal things to things you never could have imagined. Now finally to end up this jibber jabber, I remember one writer, Jean Giradoux saying Youre an attorney. Its your duty to lie, conceal and distort everything and slander everybody See? Now this ones an easy task all I need is to lie, AND NOT TO THINK - MY MOST FAVORITE THING TO DO IN THE WORLD!
PS: Thank you so much Sir for this very irrelevant semester! Haha. No but seriously, thank you for making this semester a fruitful one for the whole of Block D God bless you!
