Digital marketing expert to explore best practice for success

Five-time best-selling business book author Dave Chaffey is to give a talk at Leeds Metropolitan, discussing the best practices in digital marketing. The event will take place on Thursday 1 November at the Universitys city centre campus in the Rose Bowl building from 6-7pm and is open to students, staff and the public.

Dr Chaffey, who is CEO and co-founder of Smart Insights Digital Marketing strategy a Leeds-based advice website that helps businesses to manage their online marketing activities, commented: Our polling shows that around two-thirds of companies do not have a digital marketing strategy despite their customers using their websites, social media and email as a primary source of information and inspiration. Without a strategy, best practice is often not followed leading to an incredible amount of wasted investment across businesses.

The session will review some of the best practices across digital marketing and will show how an improvement and optimisation strategy is important for sustained benefits. Leeds Mets Senior Lecturer in Marketing, Neil Richardson, said: In an age where the internet rules, this guest lecture is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with an interest in digital marketing to get advice from an industry expert. Dave Chaffey is a leading voice in the digital world and his experience, knowledge and grasp of strategy about how to do business on the internet is

second to none. We are delighted to welcome him to speak at Leeds Metropolitan.

Recognised by the Chartered Institute of Marketing as one of 50 global marketing gurus, Dr Chaffey is also author of five best-selling business books which have been translated into Chinese, Dutch, Germany, Serbo-Croat and Italian. They include Digital Marketing; Strategy, Implementation and Practice, Emarketing Excellence and Total E-mail Marketing.

The hour-long free event will conclude with an opportunity to ask questions. Places are available on a first come, first served basis.
