ATM

ATM (Indonesian: Teller or in English: Automated Teller Machine) is an electronic device that allows bank customers to take money out of their savings and checking accounts without the need to be serviced by a "teller" man. Many ATMs also allow storage of cash or checks, transfer money or even buy stamps. ATMs are placed in strategic locations, such as restaurants, shopping centers, airports, markets, and the offices of the bank itself. On most modern ATMs, the customer is identified by inserting a plastic ATM card with a magnetic stripe or a plastic smart card with a chip, that contains a unique numbered cards and some security information such as an expiration date or card security code (CVV). Authentication is provided by the customer when entering a personal identification number (PIN). Using an ATM, customers can access their bank accounts to make withdrawals, cash via debit card, and check their account balances as well as purchase prepaid cellphone credit. If the currency withdrawn from the ATM is different from a bank account denominated in (eg: Japanese Yen withdrawal from a bank account containing U.S. Dollars), the money will be converted at the official exchange rate market. Thus, ATMs often provide one of the best exchange rates possible official for foreign tourists, and also widely used for this purpose. Although ATMs were originally developed as just cash dispensers, the tool has evolved to include many other bank functions are related. In some countries, especially those that utilize cross-bank ATM network integrated (eg Multibanco in Portugal), ATMs include many functions which are not directly related to the management of their own bank account, such as: 1.
