We the Kings and Fireworks to Perform at Ferris State University

Big Rapids, MI - We The Kings and Detroit natives, Fireworks, will headline the annual Autumn Alive concert Thursday, November 1st at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI. The 13th annual concert, which is run entirely by students in the Music Industry Management Association (MIMA) at Ferris, chose We the Kings based on a survey taken by Ferris students. Fireworks, being a pop punk band, was booked because we wanted a band that was in the rock genre to compliment We the Kings pop rock sound, said Robin Fomusa, booking agent for MIMA. Plus, we really wanted to bring in a Michigan-based band whose incredible live shows have helped them build up their large fan base. This years Autumn Alive will be Halloween themed. Attendees are encouraged to dress up and participate in the costume contest which will be judged by Fireworks. The majority of our audience consist of Ferris students, but our goal is to have Autumn Alive be known around the Midwest, said Fomusa. We made ticket prices low to attract fans of We the Kings and Fireworks to Ferris, which is a school most people dont know about in a town where not much happens. We the Kings kicked off their career with their famous song Check Yes Juliet and have been on the rise ever since. Recently signed to Triple Crown and Run For Cover Records, Fireworks fan base has been increasing rapidly; they are becoming known for their high-energy live performances. Both bands were on this past summers Vans Warped Tour.

The concert will be held at Wink Arena and will start at 7 p.m. Tickets are now on sale and are $20 for the public and $10 for students with valid Ferris identification. They are available at http://www.startickets.com and at the Wink Arena box office and the Rankin Student Center for Ferris students. Autumn Alive started in 1999 featuring Train as their opening act. Since then, Autumn Alive has hosted many other famous acts including; Phil Vassar, Third Eye Blind, Joe Nichols, Taking Back Sunday, and many more. Autumn Alive 2012 is sponsored by Ferris Finance Division, Entertainment Unlimited, MIMA, and The Gate and Y-102 of Big Rapids.
