Foxtel satellite, you'll have the dish (01001080), LNB (01002050) and mount (00906005)all Foxtel approved. The FTA will be combined using a diplexer or triplexer (00763347) and fed into a Spaun distribution amp (00760598). Calculating losses: We start with 85dB90dB from the satellite dish. Using 6dB or 10dB attenuators (CAT10FA), it can be dropped to 75dB, where the signal is fed into a Spaun Launch Amplifier (00761522). If there is a significant amount of loss over this cable run, you might need to use slope equalisers (LE862F).

is around 1dB. The losses on a splitter (VTS525) is different. For this splitter, we might see a 5dB loss in all directions. It's recommended to keep signal between 58dB to 76dB.

We're proud to introduce Power-Sonic to our battery range as the permanent replacement for Doss SLA batteries. Due to environmental concerns with the production methods of many of the Chinese factories, we decided to discontinue the Doss SLA battery range. Power-Sonic appears to be the best replacement for Doss based on the quality and value for money. Like many, we continue to regard the Yuasa brand as the best in the industry and the premium brand, so Yuasa will remain alongside Power-Sonic.

A little about Power-Sonic

Power-Sonic is based out of San Diego, California. They have a global distribution network and over 40 years experience in the industry. In this time, they developed certification procedures (IQC, PQC and ISO9001), standards (UL approved components) and a rigorous inspection program (QA by PowerSonic and the National Battery Quality Inspection Centre certification). These procedures guarantee that the batteries contain a minimum 99.994 purity virgin lead with no recycled lead.

To meet the price point, the manufacturing and lead is of Chinese origin. The end result is an amazing expected service life of 5-7 years for 6V or 12V batteries.

These guys are commonly used by caravanners, among other applications. For caravans, plug them in for a couple of hours before lights out, power up the battery bank of the caravan and you're set for the night. damaging connected equipment. The ability to supply up to 15 amps. Since caravans run on 15 amps, it's curious that some big Japanese brands supply units rated to a maximum 10 amps. Push button start for ease of use. Runs off standard (4 stroke) petrol. Just remember that before first use, you add oil. The kit of accessories including clamps or Anderson connectors for connecting.

Pricing At around half the price of Japanese brands, these units compete well.

One thing to note is the size of the units. The 2kW unit weighs in at over 50kg without oil and petrol! Unless your running a big air conditioning unit, you might get away with a 1kW or 2kW unit.

The old days
Traditionally the purchasing officer was treated to a formulated sales spiel, which was in turn, re-communicated by the purchasing officer to the sales people. In the last decade, presentations have spread from boardrooms to sales floors to offices, to even hotel rooms. In each of these locations, there's a variety of cables, programs and operating platforms. These variables have meant that there is a mandatory 15 minutes of pre-presentation panic, followed by either rejoice and merriment as everything works together or otherwise a series of blundering excuses from the presenter to the audience. The latter is never a great introduction to a talk! Now presenters and sales people are keeping control of the unknown by doing some BYO projector and screen. A couple of the best solutions follow.
