We are looking for a part-time intern to help launch our school in the fall of 2013. Our intern will play a vital role in ensuring that Chicago Collegiate opens its doors with a strong staff, joyful culture, rigorous curriculum and effective instructional practices in place. A significant focus of the internship will be based on furthering the educational reform interests and knowledge of the individual(s). The content of this internship will be designed for the interest areas of the individual. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the growing educational reform movement in Chicago, get an up-close look at the process of starting a school in the city, and make an impact in a neighborhood that needs high-performing school options, as well as work closely with an accomplished educator.
Chicago Collegiate is a proposed 4th-12th grade charter school located on the far South Side of Chicago in the Roseland community. We applied for our charter in the summer of 2012 and expect it to be approved in November 2012, opening our doors in the summer of 2013. Our mission is to equip all students with the academic skills, intellectual habits and character traits to succeed in the college of their choice, lead in their communities and change the world.
