3al Raseef Session and visits committee Laila Sherif Mebed Rough outline and timeline: Recruitment starts

tarts as soon Sunday 22nd July Interviews and calls to be done by mid-Augest Aim: to have a team of atleast 10 by Sunday, September 2nd -recruitment will continue to take place during FYE and first few weeks of the semester aiming to reach a team of 17-20 members A meeting during drop and add week will take place to decide when visits will take place and give an overview of aim, plan and program of the committee (details of this meeting are mentioned below) First visit will be during the weekend of 7-8 September 2012 (depending on member preferences) There will be one month of different visits while recruitment continues to take place (7/8 14/15 21/22 28/29 September) An important meeting will take place during the first week of October to decide which NGO to work with and why (details of this meeting mentioned below) October/ November/ December.. END OF THE YEAR => working on implementing the goals agreed upon in the the meeting Assess performance every month with a meeting. Adding or adjusting goals might take place based on the circumstances

Events during the year: 1. Youm 3al Raseef: Day such as VIAs orphans day in which members will contact 10+ NGOs and book AUC old/new campus and plan a full fun day including food, games, and shows.. etc 2. Football day: football competition between children in different NGOs to be done in AUC old/new campus 3. (just an Idea) Akelny Campaign: for feeding street children; members and friends are responsible to feed one or two children on the street 4. magic land trip: plan a trip for the kids In any NGO to Magic land. (Probably the NGO we will be working with) Other ideas will come up during the meetings with members

10.Having a vision: how do you see street children, treat them, whether they think there is hope or not?

Meeting 1: Time: During drop and add week with the initial 10+ members recruited during the summer Topics discussed: 1. 15-20 minute ice breaking time: everyone introduces himself 2. Introduction about the club and its aims (includes that this is the first year and they are the first team, aim is to help street children.. etc) 3. When they would like to have the visits and what time (Friday, Saturday, Tuesday- what time will probably be meeting at 9:00 and visiting at 10:00) 4. What time the sessions should be (this may be pending as it depends on the educational level of the children) 5. Small slide show about the NGOs visited by the high board 6. AIMS of the committee and the time needed to achieve these aims Some aims to be discussed with the members: Making kids acquire skills and habits and examine this through convention at end of year. (example Egyptian history and each member takes a group of kids to museums.. etc) 7. Talk about the events and see if they would like to add/adjust anything 8. What will be done during the first visit: what we will be aiming to know, what we will do for the first time

Meeting 2: Time: first week in October: Topics discussed: 1. Decide which NGO to work with 2. Why this one? Stengths and weaknesses- is it well funded, how can we help fund them and help the NGO on a macro scale 3. How will we structure the two hour visit? What will be included in the visits -introduce the stations idea and see how the members respond (rotating members every week) -creativity required! 4. How to include all club members in our program 5. How will the sessions be planned? Where did the kids education stop? 6. Aims/dates and PLAN Ex: goals 1. 2. 3. For one month

During this meeting one of the high board members are invited so that they can add/ adjust what they would like and become involved on the program
