2011 FOX FAMILY VINEYARD VERMENTINO: 100% Organic, Estate Grown Grapes The Vermentino grapes for this wine are grown on a tiny, high-density planting on the rocky hillside of the Fox Family Vineyard. Farmed organically and entirely by hand, these grape vines are meticulously cared for. The grapes are whole-cluster pressed, fermented in older French oak barrels and stainless steel aged to preserve the clean, crisp and aromatic qualities of this unique white wine. Intense aromas of gardenia, honey suckle, white peach, citrus and a subtle lemon cream precede refreshing citrus, watermelon rind and honeydew melon flavors. 60 cases produced ~ $25.00/Btl. Wine Club $20.00 2010 PARADISE ROAD VINEYARD VIOGNIER: These grapes are hand harvested, sorted and whole-cluster pressed to preserve the fresh, floral and fruity quality of this amazing varietal. The juice is then fermented in all older French oak barrels while preventing malo-lactic fermentation and barrel aged for an additional ten months before being bottled. Wine Enthusiast Magazine described this wine as, A rich and flamboyant Viognier. One might even call it majestic. Somehow it combines fabulously ripe, opulent fruit, honey and spice flavors with a savory minerality, leading to a dry finish. A real achievement in California Viognier. 93pts 108 cases produced ~ $29.00/Btl. Wine Club $23.20 2011 HAYLEES ROSE: Haylee's Rose is a refreshing blend of 52% Counoise, 28% Grenache and 20% Syrah. This Rose was crushed and cold-soaked for twenty-four hours prior to being pressed and then fermented in older French oak barrels. It is named after my daughter Haylee Rose and is released on her birthday in May. Beautiful aromas of freshly crushed strawberries, raspberries, watermelon and framboise jump from the glass while mouthwatering flavors of watermelon, strawberry, cranberry and crisp acidity refresh your palate. 102 cases produced ~ $21.00/Btl. Wine Club $16.80 2008 PARADISE ROAD VINEYARD SYRAH: This vineyard experiences a much warmer climate than most other Santa Barbara County vineyards and usually comes into the winery a month earlier than the other Syrahs. The grapes were 100% destemmed and lightly crushed into a 1.5-ton open top fermentor and cold-soaked for five days prior to inoculation. After the cold soak, the grapes were punched down by hand three times per day until fermentation was complete, basket pressed and settled before being racked to a combination of French and American oak barrels and aged for almost two years in barrel. This vineyard produces big, bold, flavorful wines which possess balance and age gracefully. I have been making wine from this vineyard since 2001 and have always received 90pts or higher from Robert Parker. 92pts Robert Parker; 92pts Rhone Report 80 cases produced ~ $37.00/Btl. Wine Club $29.60 2009 TIERRA ALTA VINEYARD SYRAH: These grapes come from a very steep hillside block of Clone 1 planted in shallow calcareous soils. The Tierra Alta Vineyard is located in the Ballard Canyon area of the Santa Ynez Valley. The grapes were hand-picked early in the morning, hand-sorted prior to being destemmed and lightly crushed, leaving approximately 70% whole berries, into a 1.5-ton open top fermentor. After the cold soak, the grapes were punched down by hand three to four times per day, for 12 days, until fermentation was complete. The must was basket pressed and aged for twenty-two months in French Oak prior to being bottled in September of 2011. 92pts Wine Enthusiast; 92+pts Rhone Report 75 cases produced ~ $39.00/Btl.
