HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY NEW SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 9:00 & 10:45A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER Chronological Bible Reading: Lamentations 4-5; Hebrews 13 Monday, November 12 Psa. 84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. Lord of Grace and Glory: You are bountiful by nature, and to give is your delight. Your gifts are precious beyond measure, and grace means they are as a freely given as the light of the sun. Grant salvation to __________ and to __________! You give grace to the lost because you will it. You give grace to the redeemed because of your covenant. You give grace to the called because of your promise. You give grace to believers because they seek it. You give grace to sinners because they will die in an eternal hell without it! Since you give grace abundantly, then give it seasonally, and bring me into a holiday of harvest based on my witness. Then grant me comforting grace, preserving grace, sanctifying grace, directing grace, instructing grace and assisting grace. By your Holy Spirit you can pour this into my soul without ceasing. Sickness may arise, but you give grace. Financial recession may come, but you give grace. A grave may be faced, but you give grace. The tiny conjunction and in this verse is a diamond rivet that fastens my present to the future, because grace and glory always go together! They are married, and no man can put them asunder. You will never deny me glory if you have bestowed on me grace. Glory is just grace in full bloom. It is grace in a tuxedo. It is grace exponentially squared and perfected. How soon I will gain glory I cannot tell. Maybe before the month is out! I want to see the glory of Jesus even now. I want the Spirit to give me the glory of the Son for the sake of the Father, so more and more souls will be saved. O rare promise! Fulfill it this week in Jesus precious name. Amen. TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS LIFE Chronological Bible Reading: Ezekiel 1-3; James 1 Tuesday, November 13 Matt. 27:32 And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross. Master and Mighty Partner: I may well rejoice to carry a cross your shoulders bore before mine. If you, my Master said, I thirst, then I cannot expect to drink every day from the bottled spring water or the pre-chilled water fountain. No, my look at your cross prepares me for what I can endure for the sake of the advancement of your kingdom, out of love to the King. You were innocent, yet you were disrespected. No wonder then, that every now and then I am irritated. James 1:4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. There is a gnawing disease that eats at my heart, but you took my sicknesses (Matt 8:17). Your cup was more bitter than mine. Help me gird myself up, and suffer with you without complaint. Why should I compound my sin by murmuring and complaining? Let me resolve this holiday season to shun no denials, but rather court them if they will more conform me to your image. The power to suffer for someone else, the capacity to be self-denying (even to an extreme) in order to accomplish some great calling for God, this is a thing to be sought after, and has to be gained before my mission is really done. Appetite was the door to sin back in the Garden, so it is only right I should be put to pain at the point of my wants and unfulfilled desires. My sinful tongue, blistered by the fever of sin, would have burned forever had not your tongue been tormented with thirst. Bring me a mind to be willing to suffer simply for the sake of love to you, even if nothing else be accomplished. Amen. FRIDAY 40 DAYS OF PRAYER FOR HARVESTKIDS Chronological Bible Reading: Ezekiel 10-12; James 4 Friday, November 16 1 John 3:21-22 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. God Our Confidence and Guide: Childlike faith makes us pray like nothing else can. It causes us to petition without reservation for great things we would otherwise never ask. It also makes us pray for little things many other people never seek. Give us and our kids the confident dependence of a child. Dont let us or HarvestKids believe that somehow great things are worthy of your attention, but mundane things are not. No, because everything is small stuff to you! What we really need is to have a constant communion over things both great and small. What is very important to a child may seem small to his parent. But how many times does the parent graciously measure the request, not from his own point of view, but from that of the child? So when we cry bitterly over a splinter, we do not expect you to call in three surgeons to extract it. But it is still a great pain to this little sufferers heart. Our eyes stand wide with tears of anguish. Let it never occur to us that any pain is too small a thing for you to care about. Thats what fathers are made for, to look after the little concerns of their little kids. Thats exactly how you love us. Our heavenly father is a good Father. Psa. 103:13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. The Bible lets us know you count the stars and call them all by name. So also bind-up our broken-hearted and heal their wounds today. We will bring great things and little things to you, knowing you are worthy of as much confidence as we can ever place in you. Thank you for showing us and our children your heart. Amen. WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING Chronological Bible Reading: Ezekiel 4-6; James 2 Wednesday, November 14 1 Chron. 29:14 But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee. Giver of All Gifts: In knowledge of you stands eternal life. In service to you is perfect liberty. Defend me today against all assaults of the enemy. As I trust in your defense let me not give way to fear, nor to any power of the adversary. Do it through the merit and might of Jesus Christ my Lord. You safely brought me to the middle of this week. Defend me in the rest of it by the Spirits mighty power. Lord, lead me not into temptation Lord, deliver me and my family from danger and evil Lord, order all my activities by your providence Lord, mold my desires according to your will Grant today that I will do what is right in your sight Do it through Jesus Christ the Lord. Then Lord, I must remember others. I must remember my pastor. I must remember those whom we have sent out. I must remember the ministers, ministries and missionaries of our church! I must ask for revival for them, even if I am ignorant of their exact circumstances. I know how you deal with me, Lord. You are working in their lives the same way. Give us all revival. Lead us alikethe family at home and the family abroadinto a similar experience and time of refreshing from you. I pray it for all the churches we have as sisters, both here and abroad. Enlarge our coasts! But Lord, it has to start with me. Rain down your Spirit in a new experience of your presence. I look to you for life-direction this week. Lord, we need you! Humbly we depend on you. We are confidently desperate for you. Answer us for your Sons sake, because it is in his name we pray. Amen. SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS Chronological Bible Reading: Ezekiel 13-15; James 5 Saturday, November 17 Psa. 72:13 He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy. O Lord My Mighty God: Who would not trust a King so good that he pledges himself to the care of the poor and needy? A childs cry touches your heart, and you are my heavenly Father. If I can do no more than squeeze-out a liquid prayer in a tear, it brings me to your attention. Let me place myself in even greater communion with you. I can look to you, because you are looking after me. Psa. 72:18 Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things. Make me eager to look for the people you want me to reach, because then I will see you do wondrous things through me. The fox and the lion have joined forces against me, but the Great Shepherd will defeat them and rescue the defenseless. My soul is hunted by the temptations of Satanic deceptions. I will run to your bosom for shelter and be safe in the arms of love. Luke 12:32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Fathers good pleasure to give you the kingdom. My fellowship in my church is not unimportant. The beginning may be small, but the change you are making in me is astonishing! Let the saving power of the name of Jesus make Harvest Church my rallying point. Let my lift up his name together with others so it will be exalted and glorified. You are this earths greatest blessing. If I want to bless others I have to bless them in your name. Your name is glorious; make that glory fill the whole earth. I await expectantly your return, because that future hope is what purifies me now. My heart yearns daily for so great a future and I cry, Rev. 22:20 Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING Chronological Bible Reading: Ezekiel 7-9; James 3 Thursday, November 15 2 Cor. 4:1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;

How rich Thy bounty, King of kings! Thy favors, how divine!
The blessings which Thy Gospel brings, how splendidly they shine! Gold is but dross, and gems but toys, should gold and gems compare; How mean, when set against those joys Thy poorest servants share! Yet all these treasures of Thy grace are lodged in urns of clay; And the weak sons of mortal race the immortal gifts convey. Feebly they lisp Thy glories forth, yet grace the victory gives; Quickly they molder back to earth, yet still Thy Gospel lives. Such wonders power divine effects; Such trophies God can raise; His hand, from crumbling dust, erects His monuments of praise. Philip Doddridge, 1739

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily devotions. 2) TITHEWORK 1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our resources. 3) TEAMWORD Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the same things over and over. This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you through the Bible chronologically in a year. Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying. Alan

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had prayed. Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition. God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son. Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
