Jeune Attente Dance Company

We are pleased to welcome all dancers and families to another dance season. We are happy to have instructors Alisa Oliver and Shelby Graveman back this year. We are also please to announce the addition of Kaitlin Boelman and Heidi Larson. These ladies are doing a great job working together and with our dancers. Dance Etiquette Just a reminder to parents and dancers that the goal of JADCO is to provide quality dance classes for all students. In order to do this students need to come to class prepared to listen to and follow the dance instructions given to the best of their ability. Unruly and rude behavior can not be tolerated. Dance Fees Dance payments are due by the 10th of every month. Please include dancers name on the memo line. Payments need to be mailed to: JADCO P.O. Alisa Oliver..I have been dancing for 25 years. Wow,
saying that makes me feel extremely old! I began dancing at age three at Lecole La Danse in Estherville, IA. As well as dancing at the studio, I also participated in my high school dance team. Later at UNI, I was a member of the Orchesis Dance Company. This is my 8th year teaching dance for Jeune Attente. Along with dance teacher, my other roles include - mom, wife, and middle school special education teacher. I have so many fun and exciting dance memories! One of my fondest memories is traveling to dance competitions. I loved performing in front of new people, and all the nerves that went with it. Another fun memory I have is getting to perform on stage at Epcot Center in Disney World. On the other hand, I have also had some embarrassing moments. One of my most embarrassing dance moments occurred during the recital my first year of dance. The song ended and everyone exited the stage as they were supposed to...everyone except for my partner and me. We stood on the edge of the stage, perfectly content just looking out at the audience. After a few moments, an audience member came up and escorted us off the stage. I was asked to share some "favorites," so here it goes...my favorite color always and forever will be purple, my favorite food is a perfectly roasted smore, my favorite movie is "Girls Just Want to Have Fun," my favorite dance styles are lyrical ballet and contemporary, and my favorite show is "So You Think You Can Dance." My goal for this year is to help the dancers improve their technique and learn new skills, as well as help them grow both as dancers and performers...all while having a fun time!

Kaitlin Boelman...I am attending the University of

Northern Iowa with a double major in Sociology and Criminology and minoring in dance. I have been dancing for 16 years and my favorite color is yellow. The most exciting thing that happened to me in my dance career was surprising Heidis and my teacher with a dance at our senior recital. If I could dance to any song it would either be Pieces or The Best is Yet to Come by the band RED. My goal for this year is to get to know JADCO, give 100% and have an awesome recital. I want nothing but the best for each and every one of my dance students, and I will encourage you to push yourself and practice in between lessons!

Costume order form

Costumes Costume orders will be ready at the end of November/early December. All costume balances will need to be paid at that time. Balance information will be sent out when orders are ready.
