Possible Causes
The administrator has shut down the interface or modified configuration of the interface. The Ethernet interface is disconnected. The administrator has shut down the remote interface or modified configuration of the remote interface. The interface is shut down by a protection function on the switch.
Procedure
Step 1 Check the cable connection on the interface and ensure that the interface is properly connected to the remote interface. Step 2 Check whether the interface has been manually shut down on the Device Information page of the web NMS. If the interface needs to transmit data, start the interface. Step 3 Check whether the interface has been shut down by any of the following functions: Bridge protocol data unit (BPDU) protection Dynamic ARP inspection (DAI) Broadcast storm suppression Port security If so, ignore the alarm. ----End

Procedure
Step 1 If the alarm persists for a long time, capture packets on interfaces to check whether the switch receives a large number of protocol packets. Step 2 If an attack occurs, contact Huawei technical support personnel. ----End
