State Lesson Objective & Lesson Agenda

Students do warm up Students practice locomotor movements

Today we are continuing to work on our catching and throwing during games. we will start with our warm up then move into practicing what we learned last class which was throwing and catching. We will be getting into some fun games that use both of the skills that we have been practicing, we will finish class with our word of the week and a quick review of todays lesson.
I Do Input (1-2 Key teaching points): Check for Understanding:

Students are seated in the ready position, hands folded in their laps, eyes on the speaker at a level 0, listening to the T.

I will demonstrate and review the previous skills from lesson 1 & 2. Demo Stance and throw for students. CFUWhat are our throwing cues? If we want the ball to go far, do we throw hard or soft? - Ready, Aim, Throw - Hard

Students practice throw by standing on their gym spots facing the word wall.

Students respond to checks for understanding by raising hands or cold call.

I will demonstrate proper catching technique to students. I explain the cues and demonstrate each position. - knees slightly bent - eye on the bean bag - two hands ready CFU- What do we do with our knees? Where should our eyes be? What do our hands look like? - bent - on the ball - two hands ready Students are watching demonstrations at a level 0 in the ready position and listening for further directions.

Students will respond to questions verbally regarding the checks for understanding.

I will demonstrate and describe the activity: Distance Challenges/Bozo Buckets/Toss to Self WISG, you will be in rows of 6. Each row is a team, your goal is to get all of your bean bags into the hoola hoop first. You will need to use the underhand throw and overhand throw depending on the distance of the hoop. Each student has one turn then moves to the back of the line. Once the bean bags are all in the hoop, we will cheer on the winners and start over. Students should respond with CFU- what is the goal? - How many turns do you get before you move to the back of the line? WISG, you will stay in your same rows, but this time your goal is going to be to throw the farthest in your group. You will be competing against the students in other teams. I will say ready, aim, throw and you will throw as far as you can before jogging safely to retrieve your bean bag. Safely hand your bean bag to the next person and move to the back of the line. CFUWhen do you throw? What is your goal?
