Spring 2013

It is an honour and a privilege to serve as your Member of the Legislative Assembly. I am truly humbled by your support. It is with that in mind that I am happy to report to you that our government has announced its sixth consecutive balanced budget. The theme of the 2013-14 provincial budget is Balanced Growth. Our financial plan for this year contains controlled spending to support our growing economy and improve quality of life. Since my last newsletter, I have been busy with my new appointment as the Chair of the Aboriginal Youth Task Force as well as the Legislative Secretary for Education, Anti-bullying Initiative. I have received a flood of emails and letters with people telling me their story. It is feedback such as this which helps shape future policy in our province and it is imperative that I hear your stories. Toward the end of the spring session in mid-May, I will be traveling the province to hear your stories and collect information. I will also be in the constituency and if you would like to meet or just have a coffee please call the office at (306) 974-4125 to make an appointment.

Anne Longmuir is a tireless volunteer in the Saskatoon Fairview constituency who recieved a well-deserved Diamond Jubilee medal.

I was honoured to take part in the ground-breaking ceremony for new affordable housing units in Saskatoon-Fairview. I enjoyed hosting constituents Mr. and Mrs. Rinas at Government House and was only too happy to take their picture with my colleague and Riders great Gene Makowsky.

(left) Hanging out with Canadas best Premier. It is a privilege to serve under Premier Brad Wall.

Speaking with students across the constituency has been one of my most rewarding experiences as Saskatoon Fairviews Member of the Legislative Assembly.

I had the opportunity to take part in the Grand Entry at the SICC Spirit of Our Nations Pow-wow at the Saskatoon Credit Union Centre.
