Anybody familiar with Seagrove potters, see all the booths and of course, shop before the marketplace opens Saturday morning.

The Celebration continues November 17, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a silent auction from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and November 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5, and children 12 and under get in free. There will be childrens hands-on activities and a special booth for children to purchase pottery at kid prices. Potters will perform demonstrations, and

The North Carolina Pottery Center (NCPC) will feature a new exhibition, Ceramic Art of NC University and College Faculty, November 10 through January 19. An opening reception will be held November 10, from noon until 2 p.m. at the NCPC. An illustrated catalog documenting the work will accompany the show and be available for purchase. For more

information, visit www.NCPotteryCenter.org. Also on November 10, 5th generation Seagrove potter Chad Brown will fire the groundhog kiln on the NCPC lawn. The firing process takes about 15 hours and uses two cords of wood. The public is welcome to come out and view the firing.

The Museum of NC Traditional Pottery will host a Christmas Open House on November 30 and December 1, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The museum will have Christmas pottery displays, refreshments, and a list of participating shops. The Seagrove Area Potters Association (SAPA) Holiday Open House is on December 8. Several Seagrove area pottery shops will have special offerings and discounts available to Patron Supporters of Seagrove Potters. STARworks Glass will hold a Holiday Ornament Sale & Open House on December 1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Hundreds of handmade ornaments and gifts will be available. The public is invited to come watch glassblowing demonstrations and enjoy holiday refreshments. STARworks Ceramics will offer a Clay Snowman Workshop on December 1, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The workshop is open to all ages and costs $15.
