Continuation of rhyme and we will work on ending Sounds in words. I will assess syllables in words.

We will do 2 letters this week: Remember to begin letters at the top when forming for handwriting purposes.

. This week will continue to compare numbers but focus on the concept LESS than. Last week we did fairly well with the concept of More. . We will continue working on the numbers 10-20 using ten frames. Students need to know that 10+1=11 and be able to represent the number using 10 frames. This work is represented in your childs homework packets for November too.

Review of Characters, Setting and being able to sequence and retell the story in order.

Reminder!!!!! Please do not send any FOOD items to school for Birthday celebrations. It seems like a fun way to celebrate your childs birthday, but it is really hard to implement and manage when it is NOT a planned activity. Also due to allergies this is never a good idea! This is a rule that is in the Kindergarten Handbook. Goody bags with non-food items are always welcome. We have 25 students currently.

Continue to work on your November packets! Last week I also sent home rhyming word pictures and riddles for you to practice with your child at home. There is no need to turn these back in. Math Workbooks: You can work on pages in Chapter 15 pages 283-296 These pages will teach your child more about the numbers higher than 10 and the ten frame format.

I will be sending home uppercase and lowercase handwriting letter practice sheets and Number writing practice for numbers 0-20. These will be just like the packets that were sent home 1st 9 weeks. These skills will be rechecked soon.

Your child can bring an electronic for a donation to United Way-Please mark your childs money United Way

This year it seems we have several students who have a hard time separating from their parents and or grand-parents when they visit school. Please think about if your child can handle you coming and going during the school day. Although lunch seems like a great time to visit, some students really have a difficult time letting you go home and resuming their learning. If you know this is an issue for your child please do not come at the beginning and or the middle of the school day. This is a very difficult transition back to learning for some students.
